- Keiko might soon enter the EMEA, if he ends up signing with Team Liquid
- Nothing has been officially announced yet but there are rumors there’s a verbal agreement
- Team Liquid will have a very different roster at the start of the next season
Following his performance during this competitive VALORANT season, Georgio “Keiko” Sanassy has been noticed by many teams, including Liquid, with whom he allegedly already has a verbal agreement.
Liquid Looking at Acquiring Keiko
We are well into the VALORANT offseason, which began in late August with the victory of Evil Geniuses at the VCT. The weeks after such a major event are always hectic, as player transfers begin with organizations trying to snatch the best performers they can find and build a compelling roster for the next season.
However, it seems Team Liquid is already a bit ahead of the curve, as they might have acquired a powerful player for their next season’s roster in the face of Georgio “Keiko” Sanassy. He has already been courted by several big organizations, but according to recent rumors, he has settled on Team Liquid’s offer, or at least already has a verbal agreement with the Dutch team.
It’s important to stress that no contract has been signed yet and neither the team nor the player has announced anything on official channels. Technically, this means that Keiko could just as easily change his mind and go find other opportunities or Team Liquid could retract their offer to the 20-year-old player.
The fact that many organizations are looking at signing Keiko should not come as a surprise to anyone, considering his performance during this competitive VALORANT season. The player was crucial in the victories of his current team, Apeks, at the VALORANT Challengers 2023 Northern Europe: Polaris Split 1 and 2. His reputation was further solidified at VCT 2023: Ascension EMEA, where Apeks took second place, again, largely thanks to the efforts of the young player.
Meanwhile, Team Liquid are quite in need of a big rethink of their strategy, and it seems major roster changes are on the table for discussion. The last few months have not been kind to the Dutch team, as they haven’t scored a significant victory since late spring. Team Liquid didn’t achieve much at the VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo in June and also suffered a relatively early departure from VALORANT Champions 2023 after suffering a defeat at the hands of LOUD.
Fortunately for Keiko, there already is apace for him made in the organization, if a contract is signed soon. Dom “soulcas” Sulcas has left Team Liquid and entered free agent status, while Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel is making the leap over to Team Vitality.
Only time will tell how Keiko changes Liquid’s fortunes if he even ends up signing a contract.
