One of the premier esports powerhouses, Team Liquid, has struck a new partnership with leading mobile network provider Verizon.
Building on 5G and Content Success
American wireless network operator Verizon has signed up a new partnership with Team Liquid, an esteemed esports organization and an early-day powerhouse in competitive video gaming.
Verizon's logo will now appear on the team's jerseys, and the company will further assist Team Liquid with setting up advanced 5G networks in its capacity as an official partner.
The companies will work together on the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force, an initiative designed to promote greater equity in the esports space and bring more players to a toxicity-free and nurturing gaming environment.
There will be a special loyalty program and rookie academies that will allow participants to obtain various rewards through the Verizon Up initiative. Speaking of the partnership, Team Liquid Chief Business Development Officer Mike Milanov argued that Verizon's expertise in 5G networks continues to sustain and elevate gaming.
“We're eager to kick off our first-ever mobile network partnership and collaborate on innovative platforms and activations that help both Team Liquid and Verizon better connect with and support our communities,” Milanov stated.
Creating Content Still Focus for Esports Companies
As is usually the case with esports partnerships these days, the companies will equally focus on creating original content that can boost their respective brand awareness and engage with fans in new and exciting ways.
Verizon and Liquid's 1UP studios will be in charge of various content offerings that will be further spearheaded by various ambassadors. Content has been a winning strategy for many companies. FaZe Clan, which recently made the cover of Sports Illustrated, started as a pure content arm.
Even after achieving competitive recognition, the company decided to keep pushing into content space, and today that accounts for an estimated 80% of all its revenues, at least during 2020, which offered a few challenges for even the most advanced esports companies.
Through Verizon's optimized 5G networks, Team Liquid will have no issue getting the word out any time it wishes.
