- The worlds of esports and wagering are coming closer together
- The CEC aims to bring together professionals from the esports, gaming, casino, and marketing spheres
- It will discuss new technologies for betting and their implication in the esports and igaming world
As a result of the pandemic, esports betting is on the rise. Amid that growth, the sixth annual Casino Esport Conference will be held in late March, with Las Vegas being its host.
The Conference Will Be Held in Las Vegas
The Casino Esport Conference is a two-day live event that aims to connect esports to the wagering, cinema, and entertainment markets. The event will be held on the 22 and 23 of March at the Alexis Park Resort in Las Vegas and is hosted by founders Ben and Ari Fox.
The event aims to connect the industries and tie them up with esports and video gaming. It will feature members from many collegiate worlds, such as professional players, marketers, developers, event providers, lawyers, educators, and many more.
Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to listen to prominent guest speakers, intrinsically linked to the world of video games. One such is Tyler Bushnell, CEO, and co-founder of Polycade. His company is a modern arcade platform for in-person social gaming. Tyler Bushnell is the son of Nolan Bushnell, Atari’s founder.
Other prominent names include Dr. Laila Mintas, former CEO of PlayUp Inc; Giovanna Fessenden, an intellectual-property attorney, and esports legal expert; Larry Jaeger, CEO of Sponsors Burst Esports and founder of 24-Z Esports Consulting; Robert Heller, CEO of Spectrum Gaming Capital; and more. A full list of speakers can be found here.
What Will the Conference Cover?
The CEC aims to cover the current state of esports in casinos, colleges, and finance. The conference will also touch on casino and igaming regulations and laws. Nevada, for example, is soon going to expand esports offerings and experts see a lot of potential for such wagering to take off soon. Another important state in the focus of the CEC’s talks is going to be New Jersey. Even cryptocurrencies will be addressed at the conference.
Ari Fox said that a lot of things, like NFTs, have come out of the pandemic, so it will be important to discuss how this might be incorporated into wagering. Fox also added that esports has become more mainstream because of the pandemic, so casinos should understand this rapidly growing market.
Fox also added that Nevada is missing out on incorporating igaming, so other states took it instead. “But this is a new opportunity in the casino space to create an immersive experience for people to be active 24/7,” elaborated Fox.
With esports and wagering becoming more and more connected, casinos are looking at a potentially quite profitable market. Ben Fox said that casinos have realized they can make more money online than in a casino, so a conference like the CEC will help them form business strategies even better.
