QLASH Announces Expansion into Latin America

in Industry
February 15, 2022
  • Esports organization QLASH opens a gaming center in Mexico City
  • It plans to field teams in League of Legends and the mobile gaming sphere
  • The organization is building on top of a financially successful 2021

The European esports organization QLASH announces it is expanding into Latin America (LATAM) after establishing operations in Mexico.

QLASH Expands into LATAM

QLASH recently revealed that it is opening a gaming center in Mexico City, which coincides with a new FIFA 22 squad based in the region. However, as more and more companies are looking into the LATAM region for investment into its growing esports field, QLASH does not plan to stop in Mexico.

QLASH has announced that it is working to field more teams in the following months, specifically mentioning the mobile esports ecosystem as a sector of interest. Another field the organization is interested in is League of Legends, which also sees a large rise in popularity in the region. QLASH has already hired several industry content creators to facilitate this even though it has not yet fielded any teams.

CEO of QLASH Luca Pagano said that the organization is always evolving. “Entering Latin America is a logical move for the company. We've been preparing our expansion to Mexico for over a year, and we're thrilled to finally be able to put it into action,” he explained. “We believe Mexico will be an important country in the gaming and esports landscape in the next years, so it felt natural for us to launch operations there.”

QLASH Invests Following a Strong Year

QLASH’s expansion into the LATAM region is a natural consequence of the organization having a rather successful year, notably in terms of funding. It received investments from many traditional sports players like Italian MMA fighter Marvin Vettori, Spanish footballer Victor Camarasa, and American professional poker player Dan Cates. And those investments are on top of the $1,130,000 funds gathered through crowdfunding.

One of QLASH’s missions is to invest this money into new areas in order to grow its growing community. QLASH Country Manager for Spain and Latin America Diego Grian Malla said “QLASH's goal with this expansion is to enhance an esports ecosystem that has been growing significantly in Mexico and Latin America. We'll work hard to build a community on our platform by forming competitive teams and conducting events for everyone.”

Considering QLASH's roots are deep in Spain, it makes sense that the LATAM region is the next field for the organization’s expansion. Even though just one FIFA team has been announced, the organization will probably soon field even more rosters in different games.
