Mousesports Changes its Name and Its Logo

in Industry
October 15, 2021
  • The reputable esports organization mousesports has changed its name to MOUZ
  • It has also switched to a new logo since the old one wasn’t clear enough to fans
  • Fans will see the organization’s refreshed look very soon and will be able to get new merch

A monumental moment for mousesports has seen the organization change its name to MOUZ and adopt a new logo.

MOUZ Will Bear a New Banner

Esports organization mousesports will be making some significant changes to its brand. After almost two decades on the market, the beloved organization has decided to change its name and logo.

We are overwhelmed by the number of reactions to our new logo and you can be sure that we saw all your feedback.

After careful consideration, we decided to adjust the logo. Have a look. #VAMOUZ pic.twitter.com/Bb1hUIgWn6

— MOUZ (@mousesports) October 15, 2021

Mousesports was formed in 2002 and bore a classic logo of an abstract mouse for a little bit under 20 years. The organization has won over 360 games under the same banner but has now decided it is time for a change. Now the esports giant will be changing its name to MOUZ and also have its players associated with a new logo.

MOUZ’ new logo features a striking bright red background with a white line that contours what’s obviously the head of a mouse. It is simple, yet effective, as it clearly conveys the right idea. In comparison, MOUZ’s old logo was also the head of a mouse but also had a secret message as the mouse’s ear resembled a PC mouse.

A New Visual Identity for the Team

However, over the years some people failed to get the message or even comprehend what the logo is supposed to represent. People on the internet have even jested that from a different angle the old logo resembles a dolphin. With MOUZ’ new logo there will be no more such misunderstandings.

In the official release, MOUZ addressed the topic of changing its logo.

“Our new badge logo will be the core part of our new identity. A powerful logo that unfolds its potential when you see it on a lot of different occasions: from content to merchandise, throughout every digital display all up to the screens of the biggest arenas. With our new logo comes a whole new visual identity for MOUZ. Headlined by the iconic red color that represented the brand since 2002, we expect to create unique content pieces that will be widely recognized as MOUZ,” the esports organization stated.

Fans of mousesports, or MOUZ, as they are called now, will soon be able to see the organization’s fresh visual identity at the PGL Stockholm Major. The MOUZ team recently qualified for the big event and will appear on the field under the new logo as soon as October 26 when the tournament starts.

Lastly, MOUZ supporters will soon be able to get their hands on new premium merchandise featuring the bright red mouse.
