Spanish Group Hires New Members on Major Posts
MEDIAPRO, a Spanish multimedia communication group, has added some new notable people to their ranks. Hires will work in the UBEAT and LVP (Liga de Videojuegos Profesional)’s divisions in the Latino American region.
The most notable acquisitions are professionals Jezer Alarcón, and Andrés Varela. Alarcón used to be a commercial director in VICE Media’s LATAM branch, while Varela used to be Riot Games’ esports manager in the region.
As for their new positions, Jazer Alarcón will take the role of a director of business development in the esports multiplatform UBEAT and tournament organizer LVP. Varela, on the other hand, will be the head of publishers for the whole continent.
Jazer Alarcón said he feels delighted to work in the ever-growing esports sector.
Observers believe the acquisition of these highly- skilled individuals certainly means MEDIAPRO is committed to making its mark on LATAM with the intention of strengthening the offices it opened there three years ago.
The Professionals’ New Obligations
Alarcón’s role as director of business development will include helping increase the influence of UBEAT and LVP in the region. Varela, on the other hand, will focus directly on the esports scene by helping organize and host esports tournaments in Chile, Mexico, Argentina, and other LATAM countries.
Liga de Videojuegos Profesional’s CEO Jordi Soler hopes his new skilled colleagues will be a breath of fresh air needed for the establishment to grow its influence.
Other than the new director of business development and head of publishers, MEDIAPRO has taken in Juan Podestá, an LVP’s Country Manager in Argentina and Chile, and María Cristina Forero as Country Manager for Columbia. The latter used to work for telecommunications company Claro while the former was ahead of sponsorships at Moviestar for Telefónica Argentina.
The new employees’ reliability will soon be put to the test as MEDIAPRO continues the strife to grow its influence in the LATAM region.
