In an effort to expand its outreach into Brazil, esports betting company Rivalry has signed a partnership deal with LoL celebrity Filipe “Ranger” Brombilla de Barrios.

Rivalry Announces Collaboration

League of Legends’s premier competition in Brazil, the CBLOL (Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends) offers the highest level of professional LoL play in the country. Naturally, this makes it quite south after for investment by many companies from the wider esports ecosystem. For this reason, the prominent publicly traded sports and esports betting and media company Rivalry has announced it has partnered with ex-professional League of Legends player and creator Filipe “Ranger” Brombilla de Barrios.

The deal will see Ranger collaborate with Rivalry on various content and activations, helping promote the company’s products and services to CBLOL fans and his more than 660K aggregate followers in Brazil. Activities will include meet-and-greets, tailored content, marketing efforts, and branding on social media and streaming platforms. Ranger will also be featured on livestreams alongside Ilha das Lendas, a top League of Legends content group, throughout the CBLOL season.

It should not come as a surprise that Rivalry has had their eyes on Ranger. The 28-year-old player has an extended career in League of Legends esports, having been part of Brazilian teams such as FURIA and Flamengo and has also participated in Worlds and MSI back in 2018.

“Ranger is a well-respected professional player and beloved personality in League of Legends, he’s the GOAT,“ said Luis Gonçalves, Rivalry’s Brazil Country Manager, about the deal. “Our creator strategy is to always lead with entertainment and enhance the connection between fan and sport – we think Ranger is an ideal partner to help us achieve that.”

The signing is part of Rivalry’s grander strategy of expanding into the esports world. The company has even taken to creating its own events in the recent past as last month Rivalry hosted the FragFest Counter-Strike 2 tournament, which was broadcast by Canadian CS personality Mohan “launders” Govindasamy.

For Ranger, it seems that the CBLOL collaboration with Rivalry is a way for him to grow his community. “Rivalry brings a special quality to its partnerships that unlocks new opportunities for creators to build their communities and reach new ones,” he said in a release. “The focus is always on producing world-class content first and building our brands together through entertainment that makes fans smile and laugh. Everything we’ll do together is meant to serve the League of Legends community in a positive way, and I’m excited to be working with them.”
