- Indonesian players get a chance to qualify for ASL 2021 Winter held in October
- The event will feature an early qualifier and be held from August 12 through August 22
- Whoever progresses to ASL 2021 Winter will have a chance to represent the country internationally
Arena of Valor is hosting the Clash of Valor tournament in Indonesia organized by Garena, which will shortlist three teams to the ASL 2021 Winter through a series of events.
AoV Players Head for ASL 2021 Winter
Garena will host a new tournament for the popular mobile MOBA Arena of Valor (AoV) in Indonesia. Dubbed Clash of Valor, the main event is scheduled to launch on August 19, with registrations available all through August 16. The gaming platform will use the event as a qualifier to AoV Star League (ASL) 2021 Winter.
Unlike other qualifiers, though, Clash of Valor will allow four teams to progress to the next stage, which is the ASL 2021 B Series Winter this September. The three teams to progress to the top in the B Series will then move to the fully-fledged ASL 2021 Winter.
Often associated with Free Fire, Garena is broadening its scope by introducing more tournaments for different titles. Clash of Valor will feature a RP 10 million prize pool or roughly $700.
Garena Gets Behind AoV Esports
The event, though, will only shortlist six teams making for a rather private competitive scene with the race doubly important. Garena is planning to hold games as early as August 12, depending on registrations, but this may prove conflicting as the process is open until August 16.
Essentially, the organizers hope to host an event from August 12 through August 22, with the dates August 16-18 serving as a short entre-act between the two stages of the competition. Progressing to the ASL 2021 Winter will be an important opportunity for teams as they would get to compete at the international AoV scene.
ASL 2021 Winter qualifying teams will be shortlisted as three teams will come from the B Series, and another three teams will come from ASL 2021 Spring. There has been no official date set for ASL 2021 Winter, but the event is expected to take place in October.
Arena of Valor is the westernized version of another mobile MOBA, Honor of Kings, which has been exceptionally popular in China, according to a Sensor Tower report. Honor of Kings has been the top-grossing mobile title worldwide, followed by another Tencent-owned game, PUBG Mobile.
Meanwhile, Arena of Valor has already wrapped up the World Cup in June, with Tencent and Garena hosting the $500,000 event.
