  • Nigma Galaxy currently has two empty positions on their roster
  • According to rumors, the support spot might be filled by Maroun “GH” Merhej
  • The team is yet to confirm any of these rumors

With the start of the ESL One Birmingham qualifiers being imminent, rumors continue going around about who will join Nigma Galaxy’s Dota 2 squad.

Speculations about GH Circulate

January has so far not been very easy on Nigma Galaxy’s Dota 2 roster as the team struggled during the DreamLeague Season 22 and BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai qualifiers. This led to the release of Daniel “Ghost” Chan and Roman “rmN-” Paley, who were part of the team for barely two weeks. Following this, the organization was left without an offlaner and a position four support.

With two spots on the roster left open, speculations started circulating about who may fill them. A particular rumor that gained quite a lot of traction is that of a potential return of Maroun “GH” Merhej to the lineup. This is fueled by a recent Telegram post from Russian Dota 2 commentator Khaled “sQreen” El-Khabbash.

He also critiqued Ghost’s performance as lackluster and noted rmN-‘s inability to stand out, suggesting their removal was inevitable. “In fact, the changes were more than logical, Ghost on the team was not impressive at all, and rmN- did not stand out in any way, which is also not very good,” the post reads.

However, it’s the following sentence that prompts many to believe that GH will be returning to Nigma’s roster as it says: “I’m waiting for the return of GH + some promising true offlaner like pure, then there will be a stomper.”

Interestingly, these speculations are somewhat corroborated by what Entity’s Vladimir “No[o]ne-” Minenko said during a recent stream. In it, the Ukrainian player remarked on the swift replacement of Ghost and rmN- and the anticipated return of GH. “They [Ghost and rmN-] didn’t last long, of course. Immediate replacements. It’s very strange. So, GH will return, that’s clear. I wonder who will be their ‘third-core’? MinD_ContRoL is already in a decent team,” No[o]ne- said.

Despite all the rumors, Nigma Galaxy is yet to reveal who will come to fill in their ranks. However, considering the ESL One Birmingham qualifiers begin today, an official announcement from the organization is likely soon to reveal the squad’s newest players.
