EYEBALLERS Reveal New Owners

One might not expect to hear the popular geography game GeoGuessr being involved in esports. However, its creators Mikael Falgard and Daniel Antell have recently joined the ownership group of the Swedish esports organization EYEBALLERS. They do so alongside NHL player Adrian Kempe and singer Victor Leksell.

The quartet of new higher-ups was announced as part of EYEBALLERS’ latest undisclosed investment round. As a result of this, the new co-owners will help grow the organization and its lifestyle brand in the future while simultaneously expanding its roster of content creators.

EYEBALLERS was created by Jesper “JW” Wecksell and Robin “flusha” Rönnquist, two highly regarded players within Counter-Strike history. The org has been a staple of the competitive Swedish CS scene and has recently won the Svenska Cupen, the country’s top CS2 tournament. Neither the organization, nor the co-owners disclosed any financial figures about the new investment round or the ownership percentages involved.

Who Are the New Co-Owners

The four higher-ups are quite an interesting bunch. GeoGuessr’s co-creators, Mikael Falgard and Daniel Antell, have a long entrepreneurial background and a lot of experience in the sports business. These would be very helpful for the two in EYEBALLERS’ future plans.

Meanwhile, Victor Leksell is one of Sweden’s biggest artists and an avid EYEBALLERS fan. In 2018, the singer had his breakthrough with the debut single “Tappat” and two years later his hit single “Svag ” became the most streamed song ever in Swedish. Leksell has many accolades under his name, such as numerous Number 1’s on the charts and prestigious Grammy awards for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.

Last but not least, Adrian Kempe is a Swedish professional ice hockey player for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). However, he is also a dedicated gamer and esports fan. He made his SHL debut in MoDo during the 2013–14 season and over the years he has cemented his reputation in the field.

Kempe got nicknamed “Juice”, after scoring 8 times in the Manchester Monarchs’ playoff run in the 2015 Calder Cup. Today the player is one of Sweden’s most recognized and established NHL players playing currently in the leading line of the Los Angeles Kings.
