Complexity Gaming is expanding its content creator roster by bringing in legendary 33-year-old Mexican soccer player Javier “Chicharito” Hernández.
Complexity Signs Chicharito
Today’s esports organizations are not only concentrated on competition, but also on content production. This is why they often hire streamers and other content creators to popularize their brand. One great marketing strategy is to bring in professional traditional athletes to the fauld, like for example FaZe who recently hired football content creator Deestroying.
This strategy is being mirrored by Complexity Gaming, which just signed the popular Mexican soccer player Javier “Chicharito” Hernández.
“Gaming has always been a passion of mine, and by signing with Complexity Stars, I’ll be able to create content and host events to better engage with my fans off the pitch,” said Chicharito on Complexity’s official announcement. “Complexity has a rich history in gaming and esports, and after seeing their commitment to developing talent and fostering opportunities for athletes to organically grow with the space, I knew it would be a perfect fit.”
Hernández joins the appropriately named Complexity Stars branch of the organization. This is a quickly growing complement of well-recognized sports stars that bring their influence and following to expand the esports organization’s reach. Some of its most prominent members include two-time NBA champion J.R. Smith, NFL running back Leonard Fournette, and five-time UFC title winner Max Holloway.
Chicharito’s New Opportunities to Interact with Fans
With over a decade and a half in professional football, Chicharito has amassed many fans. “Since he was 18, Chicharito’s fanbase has watched him dominate the football pitch,” said Duane “Zeno” Jackson, Head of Complexity Stars, Complexity Gaming. He explained that Complexity Start has given many traditional sports athletes the opportunity to interact with their fans in a new way. ”And now Chicharito will be able to leverage the program to captivate the next generation of fans where they’re consuming content,” he added.
Now, Chicharito will be able to communicate and collaborate with many diverse talents, allowing him to combine the best of the real-world and virtual pitch. Information about future events, branded content, and collaborations with other professional athletes and creators will be announced on Chicharito’s social channels, Complexity’s website, and GameSquare’s website.
As esports continues to rise in popularity, we are bound to see even more traditional sports athletes and celebrities take to working with various esports organizations.
