  • Rumors say Imperial has already made a deal with Kaiky “noway” Santos
  • Regardless, the 18-year-old will not be able to play in BLAST Premier Fall Showdown Americas
  • He will replace the stand-in Lucas “LUCAS1” Teles, who himself replaces benched player JOTA

If recent rumors are to be believed, Brazilian esports organization Imperial will add Kaiky “noway” Santos to their Counter-Strike roster after the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown Americas finishes.

Imperial Looking to Sign Noway

Normally, esports organizations make changes to their roster compositions based on the players’ performance in certain events. BLAST Premier Fall Showdown Americas is starting today and is likely teams will change after the tournament finishes. However, some organizations are already planning ahead and signing contracts with new players even before the event has finished.

Brazilian esports organization Imperial is one of these, as it seems they have reached an agreement with Kaiky “noway” Santos, according to a report from Dust2.br. “In one of the most anticipated moves in national Counter-Strike in recent times, the 18-year-old streamer agreed with Imperial and will play for the team after the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown,” the report states. “After a few days of negotiations and expectations, the parties reached an agreement that has now been sealed. noway should be officially announced in the coming days.”

As the article mentions, noway is a popular Brazilian streamer, who sports more than 137,000 followers, despite being quite young. He has already dabbled in professional Counter-Strike by playing for a team called Seleção do bt0. The team lost every single series they played across a number of qualifiers and regional leagues, but the player managed to score some very respectable results, sporting a 1.17 rating and an impressive 1.31 impact rating.

That being said, noway will not be able to participate in the current BLAST Premier Fall Showdown Americas. Instead, Lucas “LUCAS1” Teles will act as Imperial’s fifth member for the duration of the event. However, he will be only a stand-in for this tournament and will leave after it’s over. LUCAS1 came to the organization to replace Jhonatan “JOTA” Willian whom Imperial benched recently after the team’s disappointing showing at ESL Pro League, where they were eliminated after back-to-back losses to Apeks and 5yclone.

It should be noted that Imperial has not yet announced the signing of noway, so take the news with a grain of salt. However, if Dust2.br’s sources are correct, then Imperial’s roster sometime after the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown Americas will look like this:

  • Henrique “HEN1” Teles
  • Ricardo “boltz” Prass
  • João “felps” Vasconcellos
  • Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo
  • Kaiky “noway” Santos
  • Rafael “zakk” Fernandes (coach)
