  • Heretics are about to add a former LEC champion ahead of the 2023 Summer Split
  • Flakked would likely replace Heretics’ current AD Carry Jackspektra
  • The team has not yet commented anything on these rumors

If recent rumors are to be believed, Heretrics are planning to change their lackluster performance so far in 2023 by signing former LEC champion Victor “Flakked” Lirola Tortosa.

Heretics Might Add Flakked

League of Legends EMEA Championship Summer Split is drawing near and organizations are doing everything to prepare for the big European tournament. One Spanish team, Heretics, plans to shake up its roster by signing the former LEC champion Victor “Flakked” Lirola Tortosa to the team.

According to the rumors spread by Blix.GG’s Marián “Eros” Stoica on May 7, the Spanish organization plans to bring Flakked to the main LoL roster. The 22-year-old is currently a part of Heretics’ academy team and if he is transferred to the main team, he will replace Jakob “Jackspektra” Gullvag Kepple.

Heretics have not yet commented on these rumors, but if the transfer becomes reality, it would mean that Flakked will be returning to play alongside Jankos, with whom he won the 2022 LEC Spring Split. Flakked previously used to be a part of G2, attending the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational and Worlds 2022 with the team. However, it had a somewhat lackluster performance at both events.

Heretics’ performance this year has also not been entirely flattering. The Spanish team managed to make it to the Group Stage in the Winter Split but failed to do so in the Spring, placing at ninth place in the latter tournament. Considering their bad performance so far in the season, it’s no wonder that the Heretics are trying out different compositions for their roster for the next Split.

However, it’s somewhat of a mystery why Heretics would want to replace Jackspektra with Flakked, considering the former’s performance has not been too bad this season. Jackspektra recorded a 4.4 KDA, the fifth-highest in the AD carry role, according to a League of Legends stat site Oracle’s Elixir.

Perhaps this is all part of a larger rebuilding that Heretics is planning, but we may still need to wait more time and see if this is the case, as the Spanish organization has not yet commented on these rumors.
