To celebrate Valorant’s launch in China, Riot Games has announced the game’s newest skin line themed after the Monkey King.
New Bundle Revealed
Valorant has been recently released in China and to mark the occasion, Riot Games has endeavored on a series of special celebrations to mark the occasion. One of these is the revealing of the game’s newest skin line called “Valiant Hero”. It is aptly themed after the Chinese mythological character Sun Wukong, who is also famously called the Monkey King.
Although Riot Games tries to give each weapon in the game skins, things don’t often work out so smoothly. This is because fans simply have preferences for the weapons they use, so Riot often prioritizes those more popular choices. This is why the newest skin bundle includes both popular and not-so-popular weapons. This is the current lineup that will receive Valiant Hero themed cosmetics: Ghost, Ares, Vandal, Operator, Ruyi Staff Melee.
All of these weapons will feature an evident black, red, and gold color scheme, and the skin bundle also has similarities to the previously released Imperium bundle. Furthermore, Riot has made reference to League of Legends’ Wukong, as keen LoL players might see a resemblance between the champion and the weapon skins.
Fortunately for fans who already have an eye on the skin bundle, it will be released on October 31 or November 1, depending on the region. It will cost 7,100 VP and will include four gun skins, one melee, a gun buddy, a player card, and one non-animated spray. Here is a breakdown of the individual skin prices:
- Ruyi Staff (dual-handed melee): 4,350 VP
- Ares: 1,775 VP
- Operator: 1,775 VP
- Ghost: 1,775 VP
- Vandal: 1,775 VP
It should be noted that the player card and spray will be separately available and will cost 375 VP and 325 VP, respectively. Furthermore, players can get their hands on the Valiant Hero gun buddy for 475 VP. All of these skins also come in three unique variants: Red, Purple, and Blue. Each one of these variants comes with a custom Wukong animation in the finisher.
All in all, Riot Games has tried to properly introduce Valorant to China with all of these changes. Perhaps an even bigger thing coming to the game, however, is the arrival of Valorant’s newest agent – Iso. He comes from the country and is styled as a mysterious solo assassin who has core duelist gameplay.
Finally, if you already have your eyes on any of the newest skins, you can wait for Episode 8 Act 2’s Night Market, which might feature the cosmetics at a discounted price.
