  • Fans have been eager to learn more information about GTA6
  • A recent official document might have accidentally revealed the game’s launch date
  • There are tons of other reports supporting the potential release date

A recent document that Microsoft penned to the Competition and Markets Authority in the United Kingdom suggests that Rockstar Games will release GTA6 in 2024.

Leak Suggests GTA6 Comes Out in 2024

Ever since its release in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V has become a staple in the gaming world, spawning tons of great streaming content and memes. But with the game closing in on a decade since its release, many have wondered if Rockstar Games is going to release a sequel anytime soon.

For fans who are eager for a new iteration of the series, there is some exciting news. Although GTA6 has been in development for some time, the game devs have not yet officially unveiled the game. However, if certain leaks from Microsoft turn out to be true, we might be seeing the title released in 2024.

This information comes from a publicly-accessible document that Microsoft penned to the Competition and Markets Authority in the United Kingdom. As reported by Insider-Gaming, the 111-page document contains some very intriguing things on page 24. There’s a brief section that highlights the future of some of the biggest players in the gaming space, and this of course includes Take-Two, the parent company behind Rockstar, the developer of the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

Is GTA6 Really Coming Out in 2024?

There is strong evidence from multiple sources that support the claims that GTA6 will be released in 2024. An independent report from Bloomberg earlier in the year talked about the current projects of Rockstar Games. The news outlet got in touch with current and former Rockstar staff, who reckon the game is still at least two years away from release, aligning with the hypothesized 2024 release date.

Additionally, a recent press release detailing Take-Two Interactive’s deal to buy mobile game company Zynga, a section on “Strategic Rationale and Stockholder Value Creation” contained a note stating that: “Looking ahead, the combined company is expected to deliver a 14% compound annual growth rate… over the three-year period from Take-Two’s Fiscal Years 2021 through 2024.”

An analyst from investment banking firm Jefferies, quoted by Axios’ Stephen Totilo on Twitter, said: “there are only a handful of titles that can…provide management with the confidence to put out such a strong guidance; we believe there is at least one Rockstar IP set to be released by FY24.” A potentially released GTA6 will indeed be enough to fill these growth numbers.

Although the leak rustled the gaming community, Rockstar or Take-Two have not commented on the matter, nor have they revealed any information about the game. But considering the overwhelming evidence pointing towards the company wanting to release GTA6 in 2024, we might soon be seeing more official information on the game.
