- Erik “ztr” Gustafsson was on loan from NiP but will stay in GODSENT’s inactive roster for now
- Johan “hype” Engblom has decided to temporarily step down from competitive CS2
- Sean “eraa” Knutsson will play in his place for now
With two of GODSENT’s players being benched, the organization revealed that eraa will play as a stand-in while the organization is yet to announce the fifth player of their revamped roster.
Two GODSENT Players Are Benched
Swedish esports organization GODSENT has had a somewhat fledgling roster for the past couple of months. The team went through several restructuring this year before settling down on the current iteration of an all-Swedish roster in August. However, the organization’s troubles don’t seem to have ended as GODSENT recently announced that it is benching two of its players – Erik “ztr” Gustafsson and Johan “hype” Engblom.
Ztr joined GODSENT on loan from Ninjas in Pyjamas and is best known for standing in for NIP from February to May of 2021. He still has three months left in his contract, so he will remain on GODSENT’s inactive roster until his next move is revealed. The Swedish organization stated that it will “collaborate with him and NIP in figuring out his path forward”.
Meanwhile, his teammate, Johan “hype” Engblom’s situation is a bit different. He decided to take a step back from competitive Counter-Strike 2 due to personal reasons. “Taking a break from cs mby couple of months mby forever we will see,” the 22-year-old player wrote on his Twitter profile.
With two players leaving GODSENT’s active roster in close succession to each other, the Swedish organization has to quickly find substitutes. They have already revealed that Sean “eraa” Knutsson will stand in place of hype. Eraa has most recently played for StockholCity, helping the team win several lower-level qualifiers. He has also performed for GODSENT at Tele2 Gaming: Road to DreamHack last week, a tournament that the organization won, so eraa already has some experience with the roster. “We hope to give him an official welcome to the organization soon”, GODSENT said.
It is currently unknown who will come in ztr’s place and complete the roster, but GODSENT said they will reveal the fifth player soon. At the time of writing of this article, no such information has been given. GODSENT’s roster currently looks like this:
- Maikil “Golden” Selim
- Nicolas “Plopski” Gonzalez Zamora
- Jonatan “bobeksde” Persson
- Sean “eraa” Knutsson (stand-in)
- Kevin “Kevve” Bohlin (coach)
- Erik “ztr” Gustafsson (benched)
- Johan “hype” Engblom (benched)
