  • The legendary trio will once again grace fans with amazing plays
  • The players are joined by two others in their team called “d00m”
  • This marks a decade since the three debuted together in professional CS:GO

Fans will get to see a legendary Swedish trio reunited once again for the IEM Road to Rio Europe RMR.

Legends Reunited

CS:GO fans, mark the date October 4 on your calendars as that is the start of the Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio 2022: European RMR A. Sixteen teams will duke it out over five days to get a chance to participate in the Rio Major 2022.

As that date approaches, teams are being formed up to take on the challenge. One of these will see the reunification of Swedish trio Adam “friberg” Friberg, Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, and Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund, all former Ninjas in Pyjamas teammates. Their team, called d00m, will be rounded out by Jack “Jackinho” Ström Mattsson and Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson.

This team will mark a reunion of the friberg, f0rest, and Lekr0 trio for the first time since they separated two years ago. Back in 2020, the three played for Dignitas. However, in September GeT_RiGhT was benched from the team’s active roster, only to announce his retirement in January 2021. The two other players stayed with the organization until Dignitas announced it’s releasing its entire roster back in May this year.

The Trio Goes Way Back

GeT_RiGhT, f0rest, and friberg’s partnership goes back almost ten years. The three made their debut in professional CS:GO in 2012, playing for Ninjas in Pyjamas. The group was immediately a dominant force in the early days of CS:GO and proved it by setting an 87-map unbeaten streak — a record that still stands today. They remain the only team in history to reach five consecutive Major grand finals, a winning streak that saw them win ESL One Cologne 2014.

With countless wins, trophies, and medals between them, the trio is amongst the most famous CS:GO professionals ever. With decades of combined experience, GeT_RiGhT, f0rest, and friberg, along with their new teammates, the team will compete in the Europe open qualifiers leading up to the next Major, IEM Rio.

From there, qualified teams will battle it out at their respective regions’ Regional Major Rankings alongside teams who finished in the top 16 at PGL Major Antwerp. D00m will have to duke it out for a chance to get one of the 16 spots that IEM Rio has to offer. But with all that experience concentrated in one spot, this should be in the bags.
