- The player is a Pro League and Overwatch veteran
- He will replace current top laner FakeGod
- His experience should be vital for Dignitas’ recovery from a lackluster Spring Split
League of Legends veteran Gamsu will be returning to Dignitas after seven years away from the team.
Dignitas Resigns Gamsu
With less than a month until the start of the LCS Summer Split, teams are making adjustments to the compositions of their rosters. Many teams are recovering from a not very good spring split, like TSM which recently signed Maple as their new mid in an attempt to turn their bad fortunes. Meanwhile, others are also not fairing well and need some new skilled players in their composition.
One such organization is Dignitas, which recently brought back a real living legend – Gamsu. The player re-joins the organization as their new top laner for the 2022 LCS Summer Split after a whopping seven-year hiatus.
Gamsu originally played for Dignitas during the 2015 LCS season and the 2016 season. However, in 2016 the player transitioned to professional Overwatch and played three seasons in the Overwatch League between 2018 and 2020 as the main tank for three different teams. He even helped the Shanghai Dragons recover from a disastrous 0-40 season when in 2019 the team became the Overwatch League stage 3 champions.
Gamsu’s Experience Should Pay Off Well
Gamsu’s return to League of Legends started last year when he was signed to 100 Thieves’ amateur squad. He quickly rose in the ranks, being transferred to 100 Thieves next, and later playing with the organization’s Academy-level lineup throughout the last two splits. Gamsu helped the Academy roster to claim the second place during this spring’s Proving Grounds event, coming just one game away from claiming the title over Team Liquid Academy.
The last time Gamsu played for Dignitas was in the distant 2015 when he led the team to a playoff appearance during the 2015 NA LCS Summer Split. However, the team fell in the first round of that year’s postseason by Team Impulse.
But during his time away from Dignitas, Gamsu has been improving a lot. Playing for 100 Thieves academy this season, the player has posted a record of 34-28 with a KDA of 3.2, according to Games of Legends.
Gansu will return to Dignitas’ roster when the league’s Summer Split begins on June 18. He will replace the team’s previous top laner FakeGod, who held the position during the last three splits.
