VeraEsports Extends Partnership with Axie Infinity into 2022

in Gaming
February 14, 2022
  • VeraEsports will broadcast the GalAxie Cup 2022
  • The tournament will be a testbed for VeraEsports’ Proof of View blockchain technology
  • “We are very much looking forward to this year’s GalAxie Cup 2022,” says Axie Infinity’s Andrew Campbell

The popular competitive esports and video streaming platform will continue its cooperation with NFT-based video game Axie Infinity for the GalAxie Cup 2022.

Axie Infinity and VeraEsports Partner up Again

For some time now, NFT’s have been entering exports and gaming, and NFT-based games like Axie Infinity have been popping off. It is only natural that VeraEsports, which is powered by Verasity‘s patented blockchain technology, comes to cooperate with it.  The GalAxie Cup 2022 is part of Axie Infinity’s competitive gaming roadmap for 2022. It is held for NFT gaming enthusiasts will start in March with open qualifiers and will be an ideal testbed for VeraEsports’ blockchain technology.

It is expected that a total of 450 AXS (worth a combined sum of around $30 000) will be distributed as a prize pool across the tournament stages. Speaking of stages, each one of them will have an open qualifier and playoffs with a prize pool of 150 AXS.

Program Lead for Esports and Content Creators at Axie Infinity Andrew Campbell said that the GalAxie Cup’s launch last year proved to be a great success and a step in the organization’s mission of growing its community. “We are proud to continue extending our investments to further the development of infrastructure that supports Axie Esports,” he added. “We are very much looking forward to this year's GalAxie Cup 2022 and are confident it will offer excitement for fans and community from across the globe.”

VeraEsports Is Growing Rapidly

The contract extension is the second big deal VeraEsports has scored this week, the other one being an agreement with Riot Games. The platform partnered with Riot for the 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour Asia-Pacific Challengers. Like with the exclusive broadcasting rights it got for the VCT, so will VeraEsports have for the GalAxie Cup.

The tournament will be a great opportunity to test VeraEsports’ Proof of View blockchain technology. Founder at VeraEsports RJ Mark said he is excited to begin another tournament with their friends at Axie Infinity. “During the GalAxie Cup 2022, we can feed real-time third-party data into Verasity's Proof of View system to ensure views are verified,” he explained. “We're looking forward to once again welcoming Axie Infinity's huge and dedicated fan base to VeraEsports, and showcasing VeraPlayer to the world.”

The renewed contract between VeraEsports and Axie Infinity will further reinforce both organizations’ place on the scene of esports. They both can be considered as pioneers in the ever-growing number of companies continuing to integrate blockchain technology into esports.
