With the rapid advance of Russian troupes into Ukrainian territory, many esports organizations and teams don the blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag in a show of support.

Esports Organizations and Pro Players Stand in Support of Ukraine

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has shocked not only the country but also the entire world. As politicians and military strategists of all sides, be they directly involved or not, are thinking about what to do next, millions around the globe have condemned the war.

Even esports organizations and professional players have expressed their support to Ukraine. The Ukrainian CS:GO player Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev tweeted out in the early hours of February 24 that his hometown is being shelled by artillery.

Many organizations and other streamers and pro gamers like Yassine “Subroza” Taoufik, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, and Timothy “timthetatman” John Betar have also shown support towards Ukraine’s citizens, many of whom are active players in various esports.

“I can’t believe what is happening in the world right now,” wrote Valorant pro Tyson “TenZ” Ngo on Twitter. “It actually makes me feel sick to my stomach.”

Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk , who is of Ukrainian descent said that he appreciated those messaging him inquiring about his family, adding he is praying for everyone in Ukraine.

Twitter today woke up to see itself adorned with the blue and yellow of Ukraine’s flag. Some of the flagbearers were no other than many esports organizations and teams. Of course, one of these was Natus Vincere, a Ukrainian professional organization, which said that the situation in the country is very real. “It is impossible that during this war we pretend everything is okay, it is not,” the organization wrote, adding their main goal now is to stay calm and `take care of their selves and their loved ones.

Other organizations also changed their Twitter profile pictures in order to express their support for the Ukrainian nation during these troubling times.
