KT Rolster defeated most of its opponents to claim first place at the Wild Rift Champions Korea 2022 Spring group stage. The team will now head to the semifinals.
KT Rolster Dominated Its Opponents
KT Rolster, a South Korean esports organization, has managed to rise above its competitors and finish first in the group stage of the Wild Rift Champions Korea 2022 Spring event. Thanks to its successful run, the squad has secured a spot as the top-seeded team in the event’s playoffs.
To get to this point, KT Rolster played across eight weeks of competitions, defeating the majority of its opponents. The team played a total of ten matches and was defeated only twice. In comparison, Kwangdong Freecs, the team that finished second, was defeated three times, winning only seven games. Despite falling to the second place, Kwangdong Freecs was one of the only two teams that managed to deal an upset to KT Rolster, the other one being Liiv SANDBOX. The latter eventually fell to fifth place and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Three Spots for the Global Championship Are on the Line
KT Rolster’s next match will be at the Wild Rift Champions Korea semifinals. On April 16, the team will play against T1, while Kwangdong Freecs will challenge Team GP. Despite KT Rolster’s favorable result, the team shouldn’t let its guard down as it will be up against some of the best Wild Rift in Korea. The best teams will then meet at the finals on April 24.
The teams will fight not only for a share of the $81,000 prize pool but for a spot at the Wild Rift Icons Global Championship. The champions of the spring season will go to the group stage of the aforementioned event while the second and third places will qualify for the play-in stage.
