  • Infinite’s campaign will not have a replay feature on launch
  • 343 Industries said they are working on such a feature
  • The studio has promised to fix the issues raised by the community

Halo Infinite’s campaign is dropping soon but players cannot yet replay missions. 343 has announced they will add a replay function.

Halo Infinite’s Mission Replay Problem

Halo Infinite’s campaign is launching today December 8 and players are eager to don on Master Chief’s iconic green armor and set about slaughtering humanity’s enemies on the Zeta Halo. However, players should savor the missions they play as this will be the only time one can play them on that save file.

This is because players will not be able to replay the main story missions on a save where they have already been played. If one wants to do that, they will have to start a brand-new campaign. Naturally, this can be frustrating for completionists who might miss certain collectible items in missions and then not be able to go back again.

This is why in an interview for The Verge, 343 Industries associate creative director Paul Crocker said that the company will work on a feature to replay missions. Although this does not fit Halo Infinite’s open-world gameplay, Crocker said that the studio will add such a feature in the near future, but did not say a specific date.

“We want to have a replay that works well, and when you have a more open game, it gets a lot trickier.” Said Crocker in the interview, before explaining that 343 made the decision to improve the quality of the single-player campaign, and later on add other features.

343 Industries Promises It Will Address the Issues

The lack of a replay function is just one of the many problems that gamers have been pointing out to the game devs. Some other problems the game is suffering from in its early days are the lack of map and game mode variety, as well as the rise in cheaters because of the absence of a good anti-cheat system.

The specific replay problem here affects mostly the first two missions of Infinite that take place as Master Chief is being led to the Zeta Halo. After Chief lands on the Halo, the open-world elements of the game come into play, so players can return to a specific location to get any missed collectibles. However, one cannot do the same with the first two missions.

Halo players have been very vocal in social media about the things they don’t like about Infinite’s multiplayer – not many maps, lack of presets, lackluster customization, and content behind paywalls. Despite this, it is almost unanimously agreed that the core gameplay and dynamics of the game are fantastic. As players voice their opinions and requests, 343 Industries has promised that the game’s issues will be fixed.
