Envy Halo Roster Rebranded to OpTic Halo Is Set to Debut in December

in Gaming
November 16, 2021
  • OpTic returns to competitive Halo with a rebranded roster
  • Envy Halo was recently rebranded to OpTic Halo and the roster is set to debut this December at HCS Kickoff Major Raleigh 2021
  • The rebranding complements OpTic Gaming's merger with Envy Gaming that created OpTic Texas last week

After completing its merger with Envy Gaming playing as Dallas Empire last week, OpTic announced its return to competitive Halo with a rebranded roster.

OpTic Halo to Debut with Envy's Rebranded Roster and Return to Competitive Halo

Professional esports organization OpTic has announced its return to competitive Halo. It was back in October when Envy revealed its return to Halo, however, the roster was only recently rebranded to OpTic Halo. The roster consists of Justin “iGotUrPistola” Deese, Bradley “aPG” Laws, Tommy “Lucid” Wilson as well as Joey “TriPPPeY” Taylor. Although this is the same roster as initially announced by Envy, OpTic has decided to add two more professionals.

As a result, the OpTic Halo roster was joined by Marcus “Elumnite” Lovejoy and Jason “Lunchbox” Brown. While the duo has been a part of competitive play, they are no longer involved in Halo as players. As a part of OpTic Halo, Elumnite will take the position of general manager. On the other hand, Lunchbox will be helping the roster as a head coach.

A Winning Move for OpTic

It is expected for OpTic Halo to debut at the HCS Kickoff Major Raleigh what is set to start this December. The tournament is planned to take place at Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina between December 17 and December 19.

The latest move complements a major step for OpTic from last week. Back then, Envy Gaming (playing as Dallas Empire) completed its merger with OpTic Gaming (playing as OpTic Chicago). As a result of the merger, the two organizations will continue their collaboration under the name OpTic Texas.

In a recent interview for the Dallas Morning News, Elumnite acknowledged that the rebranding “increases everyone's level of exposure to the community.” He added that this is: “not just limited to Halo, but if you are an OpTic fan you are following OpTic, tuning in to ensure the OpTic brand is winning.”
