  • Collapse is regarded as one of the best Magnus players in the world
  • However, it turns out that his favorite hero is Centaur
  • The player has used the hero in over 60 professional Dota 2 games

Centaur’s huge health regeneration and offensive potential make him Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov’s favorite hero.

Collapse Reveals His Favorite Hero

Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov of Team Spirit is arguably one of the best Magnus players in the professional Dota 2 scene. The two-time The International winner is regarded as a terrific offlaner and many times he has proven that. He recently gave an interview for Brian “BSJ” Canavan talking about his favorite hero to play, but to the surprise of many, it was not Magnus or Mars.

Instead, Collapse said that he enjoyed Centaur the most, even boldly claiming that one is always going to win if one chooses this hero. To BSJ’s question of what made Centaur so strong, Collapse replied that a major reason for this is the hero’s big stats, including his health regeneration.

“His regen but he has low armor but you can buy rings of protection to cover it. I think he has kind of the best spells for offlane heroes,” Collapse explained. “He has stun, he has stampede. You can save your team, you can help with initiation and I think he’s just that hero that kills everyone with his broken nukes and broken ultimate.”

How Collapse Plays the Hero

Collapse, who set a personal record recently during Spirit’s match against Shopify Rebellion at DreamLeague Season 22’s Group Stage 2, has a unique approach to Centaur. He often plays the hero offensively, rather than tankily, doing so in the first game against Shopify as well. The player chose to max out his Hoof stomp first and max his Double Edge skill second. Interestingly, he chose not to max his Retaliate skill, a build that he has been following throughout the tournament.

Centaur’s prominence has not been left unnoticed by the wider esports player community. at the ongoing DreamLeague Season 22, Centaur is the 6th favorite pick of the tournament, being chosen 45 games out of the 162 games played.

In his overall career, Collapse has played Centaur 60 times in professional games and has a mighty win rate of 71.67% with the hero, according to stats tracking platform Dotabuff. Five of these times were played at the current DreamLeague Season 22, with Spirit winning three of these matches.

Despite that, the organization is still struggling to secure its spot in the tournament.  Spirit might not want to rely only on Collapse and his Centaur too much, as the team has just two more games to ensure it claims a spot in the playoffs.
