Blizzard is once again having issues with the trust of its fans as people start demanding refunds because of the compromised Diablo 2 Resurrected servers.
Diablo 2’s Server Issues
Blizzard continues not having it rosy as Diablo 2 Resurrected users start demanding refunds. The prime reason behind this is severe problems with the game’s servers that have been annoying fans since launch.
Diablo 2 players have reported a myriad of problems, like troubles logging in, terrible matchmaking, and various bugs across the board. Some people have even worried that their characters have vanished without a trace, although others have reassured them it’s just a server bug.
Blizzard made yet another questionable move as it decided to work on fixes and patches during the weekend. Because of this, the game was unavailable for almost a whole weekend day when many people wanted to play.
The source of those hurdles was later identified as Blizzard reported it is something within the game’s code. Although this filled some Diablo 2 lovers’ hearts with hope, others were already far too angry to trust the company. Refund demands started pouring in.
Fans Demand for Refunds
Even if Blizzard is working on fixes, players are disgruntled to see this happening once again. Although this launch definitely isn’t as bad as Warcraft 3 Reforged’s launch was many are losing trust in the game company’s capabilities to release a game without major setbacks.
After yet another server outrage, players have started demanding refunds en masse. Twitter has seen the birth of a new hashtag = #RefundD2R. Reddit, on the other hand, has seen some memes appear about the state of the game. Just as people jokingly called Warcraft 3’s reboot “Warcraft 3: Refunded”, people are now calling Diablo’s remake “Diablo 2: Disconnected”.
It is possible that the whole refund saga will play once again, although it is doubtful it will be on the same level as Warcraft, simply because Diablo 2, despite its server issues, doesn’t break the promises made to the players on quite the same scale. Some people have already reported being denied a refund because they had launched the game.
Blizzard’s communication with the community isn’t great which is further infuriating people.
