- Diablo 2 Resurrected has received a new trailer to keep the excitement going
- It features Simu Liu, the actor who plays Shang Chi in Marvel’s latest movie Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
- The advertisement has rekindled the hype as fans eagerly expect the game’s imminent release
As Blizzard prepares to ship Diablo 2 Resurrected to the worldwide market, a new trailer, featuring the actor of Marvel’s Shang Chi, went live.
“The Lord of Terror Has Been Resurrected”
With Diablo 2 Resurrected almost out on the market, Blizzard has launched one more trailer to keep the hype going. This time the trailer ties in with Marvel’s last theatrical release – Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
This new trailer features Simu Liu – the Canadian actor behind the role of Shang Chi in the latest Marvel movie. The trailer shows Liu walking through a church with Diablo imagery and standing before a Diabloesque altar before taking a turn and entering a confessional and sitting to talk with a priest.
Liu seems concerned as he asks for forgiveness from the priest. Not for his past sins but for his future ones. The priest asks him about the sins he wishes to commit to which Liu replies that he needs to kill and “bathe in the blood of demons once more”.
When the priest notes that it seems that Liu is not seeking absolution but rather permission, the actor confirms that and says that there is no other way because “the lord of terror has been resurrected”.
Finally, when the priest asks Liu if he believes that the only way to defeat darkness is to descend into it, Liu shortly replies:
“Absolutely.”
The Trailer Increases Hype for the Remastered Title
With Marvel’s new movie being a hot topic, this trailer received a favorable reaction from fans. This is a fresh breath of air from all the skepticism the game has received before it even went live. Fans were concerned about some design decisions, about the competitive ladder and about the lack of Nintendo Switch news.
However, with Diablo 2 Resurrected being only several hours away, many fans are throwing these concerns aside with hopes of reliving their cherished memories and introducing new people to the franchise.
For now, though, it is likely that this trailer is only using the Shang Chi and Diablo 2 hype to popularize both franchises and keep fans excited and that there will be no real in-game crossover between the Marvel movie and the Blizzard title.
Although fans probably already know this, Diablo 2 Resurrected is going live very soon. The game will not only help veteran fans relive their memories but will also bring a lot of new people as it will release for PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One and Series X/S.
