- The format and prize pool will be changed
- The competition will feature monthly finals
- There will also be a mid-seasonal invitational and double-elimination bracket
The Brawl Stars Championship will be bigger, will have a larger prize pool, a mid-season invitational, and many more new features.
Changes Are Coming to the BSC
The Brawl Stars Championship will be returning with some big changes. This is what Supercell, the Finnish company behind the game, recently announced for the Brawl Stars Championship (BSC) 2022. As well as having a different and bigger format, larger prizes, and a mid-seasonal invitation, Supercell has also announced that they will boost support for grassroots competitions. These are great news for players who can compete in more tournaments as well as the BSC official website to test their skills.
The BSC will be a months-long ordeal, starting in February 2022 with the open-for-all monthly qualifiers. The first monthly final will be held in March. The teams for the Brawl Stars World Finals 2022 will be determined by several monthly finals, like the one in March, which will be held throughout the year. The Power match format will be used for the monthly qualifiers and finals. This means that teams will enter into a draft phase before matches where they can pick and ban Brawlers.
What Other Changes Can Players Expect?
To ensure more competitive fairness throughout the competition, the monthly qualifiers have a double-elimination bracket. This should negate any problems that might arise if two strong teams are drafted into the same bracket early in the qualifiers.
On a monetary note, Supercell has announced that they will be increasing the prize pool for the monthly finals in 2022. There will also be a new mid-season Invitational (MSI), which will feature the top teams from the BSC who will compete “face-to-face” in an offline venue for the prize money.
There is also a possibility that Supercell will be using different servers for the monthly finals, to ameliorate lag issues. This is what they did for the Brawl Stars World Finals 2021.
When all the monthly finals have ended, the best 16 teams from across the world will be able to compete at the Brawl Stars World Finals 2022. The grand finals will have the following slot distribution:
- LATAM South: Two teams
- Mainland China: One team
- EECA: Two teams
- EMEA: Five teams
- East Asia: Two teams
- SESA and ANZ: One team
- North America and LATAM North: Three teams
