  • The launch of Battlefield 2042 is expected on November 19
  • What are the system requirements and pricing options for the various game editions
  • The new Battlefield game brings exciting game modes

Besides stunning graphics and new game modes, Battlefield 2042 has more surprises. But let’s see what the system requirements for the long-anticipated shooter are and what can you expect from the different editions of the game.

The New Battlefield Game Rolls Out on November 19

Battlefield 2042 marks the return of the iconic warfare franchise. Initially set to be released in October, the launch of the long-anticipated shooter was delayed to November. Last month, developers of the game unveiled that due to challenges brought by the global pandemic, a delay in the launch date will be necessary. Thus, the launch was postponed to November 19, 2021.

In light of the upcoming launch, we have prepared what we found as the most important details you need to know. Undoubtedly, EA has prepared even more surprises once the game is out, but let's see what we know so far.

System Requirements for Battlefield 2042

Considering that Battlefield 2042 is a 2021 game we do see that the developer did as much as possible to offer players without high-end PC to still enjoy it. Even the recommended system requirements are not something unexpected and there will be plenty of players that are already equipped with even more powerful PCs that will enjoy the cutting edge graphics that Battlefield 2042 will have to offer.

Minimum:

  • Processor: Intel Core i5 6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 560
  • Network: 512 KBPS Broadband Internet connection or faster
  • Storage: 100 GB available space
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • DirectX: Version 12

Recommended:

  • Processor: Intel Core i7 4790 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT
  • Network: 512 KBPS Broadband Internet connection or faster
  • Storage: 100 GB available space
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • DirectX: Version 12

Battlefield 2042: Standard Edition, Gold Edition and Ultimate Edition

Similar to other franchises, Battlefield 2042 offers different editions for purchase. Fans that want to pre-purchase the standard game edition on Steam are going to receive:

  • The base game
  • Early access to the open beta of the game
  • A legendary skin for Irish – Battle Hardened
  • A Baku ACB-90 melee knife
  • An epic weapon charm dubbed “Mr. Chompy”
  • A “Landfall” player card background as well as “Old Guard” tag

On the other hand, the Battlefield 2042 Gold Edition includes the items listed above plus early access to game launch and a 1-year pass: 4 new specialists (1 per season), 4 battle passes (1 per season). Additionally, the Gold Edition of the game offers 3 Epic Skin bundles: “Blistered Earth”, “Tempest”, and “Cold Blood.”

The most expensive edition, the Ultimate Edition features even more extras, adding the Midnight Ultimate Bundle that features the “Shadow Stalker” legendary outfit, “Obsidian” legendary weapon skill, as well as “Onyx” – a legendary vehicle skin. Last but not least, Battlefield 2042's Ultimate Edition adds an Official Digital Artbook as well as an Exclusive Digital Soundtrack.

Here are the price options depending on the game edition and platform used:

  • Battlefield 2042 Ultimate Edition: $109.99 (PC)
  • Battlefield 2042 Ultimate Edition: $119,99 (Consoles)

The Game Will Feature Exciting Game Modes

What is known so far is that Battlefield 2042 will offer several multiplayer modes. Those are All-Out Warfare, Battlefield Portal and Hazard Zone.

The All-Out Warfare will feature the all-favorite Conquest and Breakthrough within the largest maps ever featuring up to 128 players. The game modes will feature world events as well as dynamic weather. Pitting 128 players on PC in an epic fight, the Conquest mode will divide the action into “clusters.” On the other hand, the Breakthrough mode will feature Attackers and Defenders. Each of the sectors on the maps offers plenty of options for strategic defense or attack, thus allowing the approach to sites from multiple locations.

Battlefield Portal will offer the next-gen battle experience for Battlefield fans. As a creative sandbox mode, this functionality allows the players to customize the game rules, weapons, gear and more. Players will also have the unique ability to replay all-time favorite content from Battlefield 3 or Battlefield 1942 as well as Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

There isn't much that is currently known for the Hazard Zone mode. At that time, EA revealed that this mode will offer a tense experience but more details are expected to be released soon.
