After the success of Ryu and Chun-Li, Fortnite is adding more Street Fighter characters with Cammy and Guile now officially revealed.
Fortnite Brings New Street Fighter Characters to Game
Fortnite continues to pull in other franchises and assimilate them successfully. In fact, it may not be even franchises, as the Epic Games battle royale game had massive success with NFL player skins. Now, though, Fortnite will continue adding more Street Fighter cosmetics, including two new forthcoming characters based in the SF universe.
The game’s official Twitter channel first showcased Super Street Fighter II select screen and captioned it with “Here comes two new challengers!” This will be a continuation of the previous additions, to the name Ryu and Chun-Li. After some speculation, it has been revealed that the two new characters are Cammy and Guile.
The pair will come with their own unique paraphernalia to use on the battlefield as Epic Games is launching the Cammy & Guile Gear Bundle. In it, gamers will find Guile’s Knuckle Buster Pickaxe, Cammy’s Delta Red Bowie Blade Pickaxe, and the V-Trigger Vector Glider.
The previous characters had their unique items, including the “Shoryuken,” “Lightning Kick!” and the “Sumo Torpedo.” Initially, Epic Games did not provide any additional information as to which the new characters may be and what goodie backs they would bring along with them. Some have made a strong case that Guile and Cammy would be the next worthwhile additions and evidence for Cammy’s arrival was presented by data miners. The Street Fighter crossover has been very successful as both games are quite popular and appeal to big audiences. The characters will become purchasable from the in-game store on August 7.
