What Can Fans Expect?
The 2022 World Cup’s quarterfinals are just around the corner and as football fans around the globe are preparing to watch the likes of Croatia, Portugal, and France duke it out, many of them are enjoying all the content brought to FIFA 23 Ultimate Team. from the returning Path to Glory event to the new World Cup Stories cards, each week gives FUT fans a new promo to tackle.
It seems fans will soon get even more content as new leaks show which Phenoms will be added to the game. Notorious leaker FUT Sheriff, was able to reveal some of the players that will headline the promo, some of these include Jude Bellingham (England), Eder Militao (Brazil), and Rafael Leao (Portugal).
Interestingly, some of the leaks come due to EA’s oversights. The company revealed through an in-game loading screen that the World Cup Phenoms will get underway on Friday, December 9, 2022. This new promo was named prior to the start of Qatar 2022, and with Team of the Tournament due to be the last event before the competition ends, this Friday is the only remaining date.
What About Phenoms Cards?
There’s an interesting trend seen in the leaked Phenom cards. All of them are based on young players, under 24 years of age, that have proven themselves in Qatar 2022. Almost every World Cup has a host of breakout stars, and this year’s tournament has plenty of talent to choose from.
Players who are selected to feature in the team will receive a special card with heavily boosted stats, similarly to Future Stars from other Ultimate Team seasons. It’s unlikely the new cards are going to be live items that can increase in rating as time goes on, but that can be known for sure only when the promo is officially revealed.
With so many young players proving themselves on the biggest football stage in the world, fans of FUT will have a plentitude of names to choose from when it comes to handing out special cards for this next promo.
