  • Registration for the 2022 Ferrari Esports Series is now open
  • The series will have two parallel tournaments happening simultaneously in North America and Europe
  • Ferrari opened the series with a special event featuring guests from the automotive and racing sim sphere

The Ferrari Velas Esports Series returns in 2022 again, however, this time competitors will be competing under a new format.

A New Format on the Horizon

Racing sim fans should rejoice as registration for Ferrari Velas Esports Series for this year has opened. This year participants will be competing on both Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione as part of the competition’s new format. North American sim racers will also get in on their own regional tournaments that will run parallel to the returning European regional contest.

Interested challengers can register on Ferrari’s official esports page here. The two parallel championships will be divided into 8 qualifying phases for each continent and will run from April to August. 24 North American drivers and 24 European drivers will then race in two events in the regional finals, one race on AC and the other on ACC. The double series will conclude with the respective regional finals in Europe on 13 September and in the USA on 14 September.

The whole championship’s grand culmination will be held in Italy on October 2, where the top three drivers from both regions will compete in an innovative format, that will be revealed right after the regional finals.

A Fitting Opening Event

To celebrate the first official action of the 2022 Ferrari Velas Esports Series, Scuderia put on a celebratory show on March 22. The event was held at the Ferrari Esports Studio just outside of Milan, Italy, and featured distinguished guests from the world of automotive and sim racing. They went head-to-head on the Ferrari Esports rigs with the new 488 Challenge Evo 2020 car in Assetto Corsa Competizione.

This year marks the third season of what was the Ferrari Esports Series. Previously we have seen players like Giovanni de Salvo become an official Ferrari esports driver last year. He helped the team to a Virtual 24 Hours of Spa victory and take the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Series title.

It’s expected this year will bring competitors like him, Brendon Leigh, and David Tonizza to try and topple 2021’s champion Kamil Pawlowsky, who beat 30,000 competitors to the title and will no doubt be fiercely defending it this year.

From our 5 star review…

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
