- Sources reported that Christopher “LarryBanks” Doyi will be moved out of FaZe Clan’s active VALORANT team
- The organization hired a new roster for 2022 but it has repeatedly failed to meet FaZe’s expectations
- The reports claim that LarryBanks might be replaced by Jake “Poach” Brumleve
FaZe Clan might soon introduce changes to its VALORANT lineup and switch LarryBanks with Poach, according to reports.
FaZe’s Performance Has Been Underwhelming
According to reports from the esports news outlet Dot Esports, Christopher “LarryBanks” Doyi will be benched from FaZe Clan’s active VALORANT roster. The alleged move comes in the wake of a disappointing performance for the team in January and February.
FaZe Clan had a less-than-perfect 2021 VCT campaign and it seems that their current VCT run is not any better. While the team managed to rank among the 32 top squads during the 2022 VCT Stage One Open Qualifier, it was quickly relegated to the lower bracket by The Guard. FaZe defeated Virtuoso but was knocked out of the qualifier by Pioneers.
The same story repeated in the second open qualifier in February – FaZe once again ranked among the 32 best teams but was defeated in the event’s lower bracket, suffering losses by the hands of Andbox and Ghost Gaming.
Poach Will Allegedly Replace LarryBanks
LarryBanks, who is supposedly removed from FaZe’s active roster, is a top Sova player and a fairly new addition to the organization. The player earned a spot on the team at the beginning of 2022, alongside his friend Xavier “flyuh” Carlson. The two used to play for Teal Seam and performed impressively, humbling some of the biggest names in VALORANT esports. Teal Seam earned some significant victories in 2021, which attracted the attention of FaZe Clan.
LarryBanks and flyuh became cornerstones for FaZe’s reworked team and got joined by Andrej “babybay” Francisty, Quan “dicey” Tran and Andrew “ShoT_UP” Orlowski. Sadly, it would seem that LarryBanks failed to replicate his Teal Seam success under FaZe’s banner.
According to Dot Esports’ sources, the one who may be stepping in LarryBanks’ shoes is none other than Jake “Poach” Brumleve, a former in-game leader of the Built By Gamers team. The reports added that this acquisition may transfer the captain position from flyuh to Poach.
FaZe Clan should soon announce this change if the reports turn out to be correct. In the meantime, the team has to buckle up as its next shot at the VCT is in May.
