A few more players will be able to experience Overwatch 2 firsthand as Blizzard will be dropping closed beta accesses to fans of certain streamers.

Watching Content Can Earn Fans Access to the Closed Beta

Overwatch 2’s beta access goes live today and fans will finally get a taste of what the second addition to Blizzard’s beloved first-person shooter franchise has to offer. Sadly, not everyone will get to try out the game before it has been launched on the market. However, Twitch fans will get one more chance.

Blizzard released a limited number of beta accesses but thanks to the great fan interest, the company has opted to release a few more. Fans who are yet to get a shot at Overwatch 2 can get invited to the closed beta by watching promotional content on Twitch and getting lucky.

By watching content by one of the approved streamers, Overwatch fans become eligible for a beta access drop. The promotion is only valid between 12 pm CT and 8 pm CT on April 27, so Overwatch enthusiasts should be careful not to miss out.

There Are a Few Requirements to Be Eligible for a Drop

There are several other prerequisites fans should have in mind before trying their luck. First of all, they should make sure their Twitch and Battle.net accounts have been linked. Second, only players with an Overwatch license will be eligible to receive an Overwatch 2 beta invitation. Lastly, fans need to watch one of the aforementioned streams for four hours or more before becoming eligible for the reward.

The few lucky Overwatch enthusiasts who get beta access will be able to hop in the game by going to their Battle.net accounts, selecting Overwatch and then selecting “Overwatch 2 Technical Beta” from the Game Version drop-down menu.

Overwatch 2’s inaugural beta testing begins today and will continue until May 17. Blizzard said that those who fail to get an invitation shouldn’t worry as there will be more beta tests in the future. The company added that fans who miss their chance to get an invitation can instead watch the streams as Overwatch 2’s beta will not prevent people from sharing content.
