  • Evil Geniuses has parted ways with three of its long-time players
  • MICHU, oBo and stanislaw will all be leaving the team as EG seeks to replicate its 2019 success
  • It is still unknown who Evil Geniuses’ new CS:GO member will be

Evil Geniuses has dismissed MICHU, oBo and the in-game captain stanislaw, as the organization seeks to replicate its past success.

Three Players Leave EG’s Ranks

North American esports organization Evil Geniuses is saying goodbye to three of its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players.

The news was shared on Evil Geniuses’ official Twitter page on November 6. According to it, the esports athletes Michal “?MICHU?” Müller, Owen “oBo” Schlatter and Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz are getting dismissed by the CS:GO roster.

The post’s caption reads that Evil Geniuses is planning on coming back stronger than ever.

Stanislaw’s leave is a major change for the team. The professional athlete was previously part of the NRG lineup which Evil Geniuses acquired in 2019. Since then, stanislaw has played for Evil Geniuses for almost three years and has served as the CS:GO team’s in-game captain for most of that time. His leave means that the organization is on the lookout for an even stronger leadership appointee.

Right now Evil Geniuses’ official CS:GO lineup is comprised only of the Bulgarian player Tsvetelin “?CeRq?” Dimitrov and the American player Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte, as well as the Canadian head coach Damian “daps” Steele. It is still unknown which players will be stepping in MICHU, oBo and stanislaw’s shoes.

Evil Geniuses Seeks to Reclaim its Former Glory

The roster changes are coming in the wake of the team’s early elimination from the PGL Stockholm Major. Evil Geniuses was knocked out of the event with a rather dislikable 0-3 record.

Back in 2019, Evil Geniuses’ CS:GO roster was a force to be reckoned with. For a while, the team even occupied first place in the HLTV world ranking. Yet, it’s all downhill from there. The team, as a whole, has been having a pretty underwhelming performance throughout most of 2020 and 2021.

Evil Geniuses managed to qualify for the PGL Stockholm Major but failed to achieve any success there. Some fans have even questioned whether Evil Geniuses as an organization is taking the game seriously.

However, it doesn’t seem that Evil Geniuses are done with Counter-Strike just yet. The caption of the roster change announcement reads:

“In the new year we look forward to coming back stronger and continuing to prove our dedication to NA CS:GO.”

It seems that Evil Geniuses is seeking to replicate its former success. Right now it has only two players and a head coach left but it is likely that the organization will announce its new members very soon.

Evil Geniuses isn’t the only organization making changes following the PGL Major. The French Team Vitality is also allegedly making some pretty significant changes to its lineup.
