Interest in esports in Europe was proven to grow as eSportsOne launched a TV channel last year. Now they are seeking to expand their broadcasts into more countries.

eSportsONE’s Expands Grounds to the Nordic Countries

eSportsONE is a European TV channel owned by the German broadcaster Sport1. It was launched last year in November and began by serving the Netherlands, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Belgium. Apparently, the channel has a growing success as now it will expand to include Sweden and Norway to the list of countries it is being broadcasted in.

The channel focuses on several widely popular titles such as Starcraft 2, Dota 2, Warcraft 3, Rocket League, and NBA 2K. The channel is also associated with the Psyonix, Electronic Sports League, and the NBA 2K League.

The channel has more than 1000 hours of live broadcasting of international esports events and tournaments. To keep content fresh, eSportsONE not only streams live competitions but also has a variety of original shows dedicated to analytics, game statistics, etc.

Most of the broadcasts are primarily in English, but the Sport1 editorial team sometimes adds highlights in German and other languages.

Olaf Schroder, chief executive at Sport1, has previously said that the channel seeks to be a visionary in Europe, offering esports to the ever-widening public of enthusiasts when no one else does. Now two more countries will have the opportunity to benefit from this novelty in European television.

Only time will tell how more it will the eSportsONE channel grow and what countries it will cover next. Schroder has mentioned he has goals of popularizing esports in Europe. As for now, the channel will soon be broadcasting the Rocket League Championship Series’ regional. The North American Regional will take place between March 19 and 21, followed shortly by the European Regional 8 starting March 26.
