ESL Gaming will be hosting the next big Wild Rift esports event in Southeast Asia: the SEA Championship 2021.
A Great Upcoming Esports Competition in SEA
Esports event organizer ESL Gaming will be hosting a big League of Legends: Wild Rift tournament for the whole of Southeast Asia. The Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021 will not only be a spectacular event in itself but will be a part of Riot Game’s official Wild Rift circuit and will serve as a continuation of the Wild Rift SEA Icon Series 2021.
As the event will target the multi-national esports community of Southeast Asia, teams from various countries will get their own regional events. Such events will be held Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Some of the teams at the Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021 will qualify through the currently ongoing Wild Rift SEA Icon Series: Fall Season. Each top finalist will get a secure spot in the SEA Championship in their respective region.
More News Will Be Revealed Soon
Riot Games and ESL have been quite sparing in the reveals. Currently, we know next to nothing about the plans for the Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021. No prize pool or dates have been disclosed yet.
One of the few revealed things was industry details about the competition in Taiwan where instead of Cyber Games Arena, the local event will be hosted by Upmedia and will have the event’s name changed to Taiwan Legends Championship.
It is possible that top teams from the SEC Championship 2021 may qualify for the World Championship or for another bigger event but we are yet to have anything like that confirmed. Esports fans can stay tuned and follow Riot Games and ESL for any new announcements.
