Winstrike Signs NoMarci Roster, Heads to DPC 2021/2022

in DOTA 2
November 22, 2021
  • The Eastern European esports organization Winstrike has signed the NoMarci roster
  • The team will seek to get back to the first division, after falling out of it in the last season
  • Three of Winstrike’s competitors are yet to be announced

As the DPC 2021/2022 season approaches, Winstrike has signed the NoMarci roster in hopes of regaining the organization’s former glory.

The NoMarci Roster Joins Winstrike

Dota 2 teams are frantically preparing for the upcoming start of the 2021/2022 Dota Pro Circuit season. With about a week remaining until the season’s start, the teams are seeking to finalize their refreshed rosters as they head to another year of competition.

Winstrike, one of the professional Dota 2 esports teams on the Eastern European scene, has just made some last-minute changes to its lineup ahead of the season’s beginning. Winstrike’s move isn’t a small one as the team signed the NoMarci roster, comprised of Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin, Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev, Maxim “forcemajor” Meretsky, Evgeny “Noticed” Ignatenko and Amir “Dodren” Akmolin.

The NoMarci squad was created this October and has already had its trial by fire by participating in the Dota 2 Champions League 2021 Season 5.

The players will be coached by the former Natus Vincere coach Andrey “Mag” Chipenko, who is considered to be one of the best off-lane players across Eastern Europe.

The Competition in Eastern Europe Starts Soon

Winstrike will start its 2021/2022 competitive journey in the second division but will aim to get back to the first division. The organization used to be among the better-performing Eastern European teams and had a solid spot in the first division. However, the 2020/2021 DPC season saw Winstrike perform rather suboptimally, placing seventh in the overall ranking.

This led to the organization parting way with its former players, before eventually acquiring the NoMarci roster. The new lineup doesn’t have a long history of competitive play but some of its members, including SoNNeikO and Daxak, have individually played in international events. Moreover, the team synergy seems to be promising, which sparks hopes of Winstrike regaining and even exceeding its former glory.

Some of Winstrike’s competitors are yet to be announced. EXTREMUM, one of the second division teams, failed to sign a team, which currently left three spots for new teams to join. The latter will be decided through open qualifiers.

Other than that, the current competitors in the DPC EEU 2021/22 Tour 1: Division II include Winstrike, Fantastic Five, Nemiga Gaming, Gambit-2 and B8. The season starts on November 29 with qualifiers scheduled for November 26-28. The new season will bring some major changes to last year’s format and will have new organizers taking responsibility for some of the regional events.
