Team Undying Ready to go to TI10 without Sponsor
In a time of multi-million esports franchises, taking a stand is both admirable and welcome. It reminds us all that returning to our esports grassroots movements is something we should actively pursue, and esports outfit Team Undying has decided to remain true to this tenet and field its own team as an independent organization in the upcoming The International 10, the single-biggest event featuring $40 million in prize money.
Team Undying's history is brief but inspirational. The outfit was formed to compete in DPC 21 for a shot at qualifying for The International. Since January, the team has won several first places, including The International 10 North America Qualifier, BTS Pro Series Season 6: Americas, and Dota Pro Circuit 2021: S1 – North America Closed Qualifier.
Amassing winnings to the tune of $82,500, Undying is one of the upcoming Dota 2 franchises comprised of well-seasoned and ambitious players with a proven track record in the game. The team members' combined experience and expertise have brought them 9 unchallenged victories in the qualifying TI10 event.
Teasing Sponsorship Opportunities
The organization is still looking for a sponsor, but it's probably waiting for the right company to show up. Undying briefly teased Tesla and Elon Musk on Twitter whether they were looking to expand into esports.
Undying's track record puts them well on par with some of the strongest North American esports teams, even though the team itself is comprised of players from all over the world. Presently, Undying's roster features Enzo “Timado” Gianoli, Jonathan “Bryle” De Guia,” Jonáš “SabeRLight” Volek, David Boon “MoonMeander” Yang Tan and DooYoung “DuBu” Kim.
The team will be heading for Bucharest, Romania, in October after the event was relocated following complications with hosting TI10 in Sweden.
