  • Team Spirit rise to the top of the Dota 2 Champions League Season 1 after a major victory against Viking.gg
  • Masterful play by yatoro got the enemy team decimated with a 20/0/21 KDA ratio
  • Team Spirit took home $10,000 and will return on April 16 in the CIS regional league

Team Spirit’s skill, mastery, and flawless performance helped them prevail in the Dota 2 Champions League and beat Viking.gg competitors by a wide margin.

Team Spirit Decimate Viking.gg for the First Spot

Dota 2 Champions League’s first season is now over, with Team Spirit getting crowned as champions. The team’s strong lineup rose through the ranks and decimated the competitors.

Spirit’s previous opponents were Team Unique and High Coast Esports, which were both beaten. However, the grand finale against Viking.gg is where Team Secret’s powerful roster fully shined. The opposing team didn’t stand a chance as Secret’s masterful tactics and skills made for a quick match, with both games lasting under 30 minutes.

As usual, the true most valuable player of the Secret’s lineup was Illya “yatoro” Mulyarchuk. He didn’t perish a single time, finishing the game with the whooping kill-death-assist ratio of 20/0/21. Yatoro eliminated all chances for the opposing players by exceeding 50K overall damage. This is almost twice as much as any of his teammates. Yatoro’s preferred characters were Wraith King and Phantom Lancer with the support of his fellow teammate Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek and his Storm Spirit character, Viking.gg couldn’t even as much as scratch Team Spirit.

Team Spirit finished first, followed by Viking.gg, and High Coast and Brame sharing third place. With the exception of Brame, the other three were teams that had received direct invitations.

The Team’s Goals for DPC Season Two

Team Spirit will now take the grand prize of $10,000 back home. Soon after, they need to prepare again as on April 16, and they will be joining the Commonwealth of Independent States’ regional league, where they will be aiming for the upper bracket of DPC season two. In the first season, they had to settle for fourth place and even lost the chance for the ONE Esports Singapore Major by AS Monaco Gambit.

Now the team seems to be on the rise again, so we can look forward to the CIS regional league and DPC’s second season.
