Pinnacle Welcomes Dota 2 in Cup Series

Sportsbook Pinnacle has announced a new facet for its esports tournament, the eponymous Pinnacle Cup, adding Dota 2 into the mix. The event will now feature a $100,000 event hosted by Relog Media and will focus on several main regions, including EuropeCIS, and Russia

The organization is teaming up with GRID as the tournament’s official data rights partner. Pinnacle will step in its role as a betting operator and shortlist a number of markets players can bet on in real-time and pre-game.

GRID will make sure that live feeds and various statistics reach fans and contribute to a better viewership experience. Commenting on the expansion of the current esports format, Pinnacle CEO Paris Smith shared the company’s excitement to be extending its collaboration with Relog Media.

As is Pinnacle’s custom, the company remains focused on engaging with esports audiences, Smith explained and continues to deepen its connection with competitive video gaming audiences.

Engaging with a Global Esports Audience

“The heart of what we do at Pinnacle is engaging with the esports community, and with the introduction of The Pinnacle Cup,” Smith said, adding: “There is no better way for us to continue this journey than branching out into Dota 2, where we can continue offering fans the best connection to their favorite esports teams and players.”

The Pinnacle Cup – Dota will kick off on May 5 and feature ten teams who will participate in a round-robin competitive format followed by a best-of-three double-elimination bracket. The grand finals are scheduled for May 30.

Relog Media CEO Milutin Pecic shared his excitement to be extending the relationship with Pinnacle as well. The team at Relog Media, Pecic explained, were passionate Dota 2 players themselves, he added.

Outlining potential future plans, Pecic said that he is hoping to see Relog Media scale up its offer globally. He said that the CS:GO edition of the event has been a lot of fun, and the same experience was now coming to Dota 2.

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
