OG Will Finally Deploy Its Full Roster at the International 2022

in DOTA 2
October 5, 2022
  • The team was missing Misha for most of the year
  • Visa issues prevented the Russian team captain to attend many of this year’s Majors
  • OG relied on coaches Ceb and Chuvash for most of the Majors

Visa issues prevented OG from operating its full Dota 2 roster, but now all of these changes and the team will compete at full strength at The International 11.

Misha Is Back

The biggest Dota 2 event of the year, The International 11, is less than two weeks away and organizations are busy with last-minute preparations. A lot of rosters are already in Singapore, where the event is going to be held, and are training hard. But one organization seems to be lacking behind due to visa issues – OG.

However, the European team will finally be able to play with its full roster.  During this competitive season, OG often had to play with a stand-in in almost all Major tournaments except Riad Masters. This was because the Russian player Mikhail “Misha” Agatov had visa issues on multiple occasions. However, the team expressed its willingness to continue playing with Mish in the upcoming TI11.

The European organization announced the return of Misha in a Twitter post featuring a photo of all the players, alongside Sébastien “Ceb” Debs, the veteran player who substituted for Misha throughout most of this year. In a follow-up tweet, OG explained that Ceb is going to be the team’s second coach.

Considering OG was not able to play with its normal roster for most of the Majors of this year’s Dota Pro Circuit, the team did pretty well. The team formed in November last year and quickly became one of the top teams in the world.

However, the team’s good time didn’t last long, as Misha had visa troubles from the start of the year. This is why OG had to rely on the organization’s co-founder Ceb, or the team’s coach, Chuvash, as stand-ins for most of this season’s important tournaments.

Although this arrangement worked, it put extra stress on the team as a whole. This was exacerbated by the fact that Misha is OG’s captain. He played with his team in the regular DPC season and managed to stay positive despite missing out on most of the important events. Now the team is in full strength and will be able to face another 19 teams from around the globe at the biggest Dota 2 event of the year.

The International 2022 will begin on October 15 and will last for two weeks. It will see the best teams around the world compete for glory and a piece of the double-digit million prize pool, often cited as the biggest prize pool in esports.
