OG Says Goodbye to Coach Titouan “Sockshka” Merloz

in DOTA 2
November 15, 2021
  • Back in September, Titouan “Sockshka” Merloz became assistant coach while Mikhail “Misha” Agatov took the position of head coach at OG's Dota 2 division
  • Now, Sockshka is no longer a part of OG
  • He thanked his teammates and everyone at the organization for the incredible moments

OG esports parted ways with Titouan “Sockshka” Merloz, the professional Dota 2 player that coached the team since 2019.

Titouan “Sockshka” Merloz Parts Ways with OG

Late last week, the European esports organization OG announced that it parted ways with Sockshka. This move complements an ongoing structural change of OG's Dota division. Moreover, the global COVID-19 pandemic brought difficulties for the team last year. Early in 2020, Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka retired from OG, while in July, the team released Syed “Sumail” Hassan. Sumail was replaced by Sebastien “Ceb” Debs. On the other hand, Ceb was a part of various rosters together with Sockshka before both of them joined OG.

Overall, Sockshka brought immense success for OG. For three years, while he was a part of the team's Dota 2 division, the organization won the most reputable Dota 2 event twice. However, it was back in September when Sockshka was replaced by Mikhail “Misha” Agatov. Since then, Misha has kept the position of head coach, while Sockshka remained with the organization as an assistant coach.

Forever OG.

Thank you for everything, @FollowSockshka. #DreamOG pic.twitter.com/xLrob8IHGQ

Sockshka Thanked the OG Team

Sockshka's professional Dota 2 career dates back a decade. In a statement, the pro said that while he was a part of OG's Dota 2 roster, he created some of the best memories of his life. Additionally, he said that OG are not just his teammates but friends as well.

“Today I'm no longer part of OG Dota 2.” Titouan “Sockshka” Merloz

Sockshka thanked the OG squad for the incredible moments. He paid special thanks to Johan and Seb that helped him with this “life-changing opportunity.” Last but not least, Sockshka thanked everyone involved in OG that made “everything possible for the competitive side on a daily basis.”

The recent statement was signed: “Forever OG, Socks.” It will be interesting to see what Sockshka's next move is going to be. The pro player is yet to reveal if he will join another team as a player or he would rather continue coaching.
