- The DPC SEA 2021/22 Tour 1: Regional Finals are looming with the almost unchallenged Boom heading out against SMG
- SMG still have many talented players who are likely to put up a good fight in the upcoming series and secure at least a single game
- Boom will most likely maintain their form from Division 1 and go mostly undefeated in the Regional Finals
The other pair of DPC SEA 2022/22 Tour 1: Regional Finals teams that will play on February 11 is Team SMG versus Boom. This will be an interesting Best of 3 series with Boom posted as the clear favorites at (1.40) and SMG trailing them with the rather long 2.71 at the moment of writing.
Why is this the case? Well, for starters, Boom secured the previous round of the event and managed to finish in the first place. The team went undefeated in a 6-1 series with 12-2 games overall. The sole two-game losses were to T1 which somehow defied the odds and managed to inflict a crippling defeat on Boom.
Let’s take a look at our predictions and see if Boom is going to have a clear run here or SMG may still throw a spanner in the works.
Odds to Win Boom vs SMG

Boom Betting Preview (February 11, 2022)
Flawless. This is how we could define Boom’s game over the past month. The team did surprisingly struggle against T1 and lost a Bo3 series without putting up much fight, but it has not faltered much anywhere else. Boom’s creeping, offense and defense have been a good example of how a team wants to perform if it wants to get admitted into The International this year.
Boom is surely going to have a spot in the big tournament later in 2022, but the question is if they can keep up with their consistently good game. Southeast Asia has produced many talented esports organizations, and Team SMG is definitely one of them. However, we have the numbers speak for themselves. Boom has lost only two games out of 14 total.
They are a fully homogenous esports team as well with their members all hailing from the Philippines bar Fbz who is from Indonesia. Boom’s decision to replace their roster has already paid dividends and we are likely to see them secure the series in the upcoming game on February 11.
SMG Betting Preview (February 11, 2022)
SMG has been struggling in a way. They went 5-2 in the previous round’s competition and managed to win ten games and lose six. So, as you can see, they have also had to overcome some challenges. However, SMG is a good if somewhat middling at times team. Their active roster is mostly fresh as well, and they have some talented players including MidOne, Moon, and ah fu.
These three players should be able to put up a decent fight. This does come down, though, to how well SMG has processed its performance in the previous stage. We want to bet in favor of Team SMG to put up a decent fight and we are happy to make three predictions for the upcoming series:
