  • As Diablo 2 Resurrected approaches, fans are voicing their concerns
  • Console gamers are worried about the lack of Nintendo Switch news and the lack of in-game communication options
  • The game is currently set to release on September 23

Diablo 2 Resurrected will soon release and bring back tons of fond memories. However, the classic title’s remaster is already bringing some concerns as well.

Still No Switch News

The release of Diablo 2 Resurrected, the remaster of Blizzard’s all-time classic, is just around the corner. Set to go live on September 23, the game will let people relive their cherished memories and introduce new people to the franchise. Yet, one large group, in particular, is having some worries, namely the console users with the Nintendo Switch ones having the worst of it.

The problem with the portable console is that although a Switch port was announced, no news about this version has been released yet despite the game coming out in less than two weeks. Most perturbing of all is that the game is not yet available as a pre-order option on the Nintendo store and no news on Nintendo’s website, sparking rumors about delays.

The Nintendo Switch player base grows restless as it is starting to feel forgotten, neglected, and wondering whether it will receive a game at all. On top of the silence, Diablo 2 Resurrected had never launched a beta version of the game for Nintendo Switch device owners.

It is yet to be seen how the situation unfolds and if Blizzard is planning a surprise, prefers to stay silent until release, or simply isn’t quite ready with the Switch version. Whatever the case, even if no statement is released, all will become clear by September 24.

Lack of Console Communication Aggravated Fans

Diablo 2 Resurrected is already sparking concerns among players of other consoles as well, albeit because of different reasons. The developers had decided to make some questionable decisions that weren’t to the likings of some seasoned Diablo 2 fans.

According to Blizzard, the competitive ladder will be making its way back to the game and will be receiving some major upgrades. However, it will not be available at release, which left a sour taste in the mouths of competitively oriented players.

Even worse, the game seems to have any and all communication options for console, which was considered really disappointing as it kind of kills the multiplayer aspect. Many beta testers have voiced their concerns on forums but it seems like only the PC version will be getting a voice chat thanks to Battlenet’s inherent functions.

Diablo 2 Resurrected is a chance for Activision Blizzard to make things right. The studio was previously bashed for its less-than-perfect remaster of Warcraft 3. And while the Diablo 2 remaster already looks better, fans are on edge as they fear encountering fatal flaws.
