- The player was initially benched by MR back in July this year
- Rumors say he will return to Moviestar Riders as the team’s new in-game leader
- He spent the last few months playing for Project G as their IGL
Following Alejandro “alex” Masanet’s move from Moviestar Riders to NiP, the Spanich organization is allegedlt looking to fill the gap by re-signing 22-year-old David “dav1g” Granado Bermudo.
Rumors Around Dav1g Circulate
This summer saw Moviestar Raiders make substantial changes to their Counter-Strike roster, which resulted in the Spanish organization bringing aboard Adam “adamS” Marian and Tiago “JUST” Moura. In the process, the team had to remove or hench several players, one of whom was David “dav1g” Granado Bermudo.
However, if recent rumors turn out to be true, the 22-year-old rifler will be back in the organization’s starting lineup very soon. Not only that, but he would return as the squad’s new in-game leader and will take over the position from Alejandro “alex” Masanet. Alex left his IGL spot open when he went to Stockholm, Sweden, as he has been acquired by Ninjas in Pyjamas, and is currently awaiting the organization to officially announce the signing. This is part of a larger restructuring, which also saw NiP enter a partnership with Shikenso Analytics in a new strategy to popularize the org’s franchise.
Back to dav1g, the young player will return to the team with which he broke out of the local Spanish scene, and later on to the international one. While playing for MR, the player participated in a Major, three Pro Leagues, and even competed at the IEM Cologne semifinals.
Despite the circulating rumors, dav1g is still technically a part of Project G, a small mixed European team, which he helped put together while being benched from MR. Since then, he has only played the CCT East Europe Series 4 Closed Qualifier and was crucial in the team qualifying for the main event. During that time, he gained valuable experience as a Counter-Strike IGL, which MR must have recognized, considering the position they are offering him now. The fact that dav1g also posted a rating of 1.21 across ten maps likely also contributed to the team’s decision.
If the rumors of his return turn out to be true, dav1g’s first reappearance with Moviestar Riders in his new role as an in-game leader will be at the ESL Challenger Atlanta Closed Qualifier, starting on November 16. Then, MR’s team might look like this:
- David “dav1g” Granado Bermudo
- Alejandro “mopoz” Fernández-Quejo Cano
- Antonio “Martinez” Martinez
- Adam “adamS” Marian
- Tiago “JUST” Moura
- Galder “bladE” Barcena (coach)
