  • Eight teams from around the globe have been divided into two groups
  • The ESL Impact Katowice 2023 will serve as the start of this year’s season
  • Previously defeated teams will now have a chance for revenge

With less than two weeks left before the start of the ESL Impact Katowice 2023, the tournament organizers finally revealed the groups for the event.

Groups Have Become Clear

The International Congress Center in Katowice will soon be host to the eight teams who will compete for the honor of first place at the ESL Impact Katowice 2023. Coming back for its second year, the CS:GO event will see the teams compete in two GSL-style groups of four, leading into a single-elimination bracket.

The three-day event will run from February 10 to 13 and will be held at the Spodek Arena. It will run alongside the ESL Pro Tour Championship and will be open to all fans free of charge. The event will serve as the starting point for this year’s ESL Impact season and will be followed by two seasons of online league play. The seasons will end in two LAN finals – one in Dallas, USA, and the other in Hanover, Germany.

Group A:

  • Nigma Galaxy
  • HSG fe
  • B4 fe
  • Saints

Group B:

  • FURIA fe
  • CLG Red
  • 9 Pandas Fearless
  • NAVI Javelins

Nigma Galaxy and HSG fe are the two teams that are heading Group A. Nigma’s Russian core was very successful in 2022. Spearheaded by Rumanian player Ana “ANa” Dumbravă, the team conquered every Impact event last year. Both these teams will share the A Group with Saints and B4 fe, who come after their performance at the North American and South American qualifiers respectively.

Group B is led by FURIA fe, who finished second in every ESL Impact event last year. The team was outperformed every time by Nigma, so FURIA has all the more reason to perform well at this event. But before FURIA enacts their revenge, they will have to face historic heavy-hitters CLG Red. NAVI Javelins and 9 Pandas Fearless also have a history together, with the latter securing eir attendance in the first European qualifiers by beating the latter. Fearless has not forgotten this and is eager for revenge after making their way through the second set of online matches to reach the Polish tournament.

You can watch the drama unfold, starting next Friday, February 10.
