Last week Team Spirit's CS:GO team was eliminated from the PGL Major Stockholm 2021. Spirit's CEO Nikita “Cheshir” Chukalin revealed that following DreamHack Open this November, the Russian organization will start forming a new roster and part ways with the current.
Team Spirit to Start Forming a New CS:GO Roster after DreamHack Open
Judging by a statement released on Sunday last week, Team Spirit will part ways with its current CS:GO roster. The break-up will happen following the DreamHack Open that is set to launch later this month. The announcement comes shortly after the team which is coached by Nikolay “Certus” Poluyanov was eliminated by Australis during the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 Challengers Stage.
Signed under Team Spirit's CEO, Nikita “Cheshir” Chukalin, the recently released statement reveals that after 2.5 years, the current CS:GO project will come to an end. He acknowledged that the Team Spirit will enter into a “rebuilding phase” and start forming and managing a new roster with the help of the gained experience. Cheshir stressed that he is confident that with a strategic approach, Team Spirit will “achieve the highest objectives.”
The Current Roster Didn't Achieve Its Full Potential
Based on Chukalin's statement, it looks like the current roster leaves a bit of a bitter feeling. He outlined that the potential of the CS:GO project wasn't achieved fully. Moreover, he revealed that Team Spirit “has an understanding of the reasons behind it” but he said that he isn't prepared to share those reasons yet.
