  • Spirit's CEO Nikita “Cheshir” Chukalin revealed that the potential of the CS:GO project that lasted 2.5 years wasn't achieved fully
  • The CEO thanked all of the players and coaches that brought many exciting moments for the community

Last week Team Spirit's CS:GO team was eliminated from the PGL Major Stockholm 2021. Spirit's CEO Nikita “Cheshir” Chukalin revealed that following DreamHack Open this November, the Russian organization will start forming a new roster and part ways with the current.

Team Spirit to Start Forming a New CS:GO Roster after DreamHack Open

Judging by a statement released on Sunday last week, Team Spirit will part ways with its current CS:GO roster. The break-up will happen following the DreamHack Open that is set to launch later this month. The announcement comes shortly after the team which is coached by Nikolay “Certus” Poluyanov was eliminated by Australis during the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 Challengers Stage.

Signed under Team Spirit's CEO, Nikita “Cheshir” Chukalin, the recently released statement reveals that after 2.5 years, the current CS:GO project will come to an end. He acknowledged that the Team Spirit will enter into a “rebuilding phase” and start forming and managing a new roster with the help of the gained experience. Cheshir stressed that he is confident that with a strategic approach, Team Spirit will “achieve the highest objectives.”

The Current Roster Didn't Achieve Its Full Potential

Based on Chukalin's statement, it looks like the current roster leaves a bit of a bitter feeling. He outlined that the potential of the CS:GO project wasn't achieved fully. Moreover, he revealed that Team Spirit “has an understanding of the reasons behind it” but he said that he isn't prepared to share those reasons yet.

“It is safe to say that its potential wasn't fully achieved.” Nikita “Cheshir” Chukalin, CEO at Team Spirit

Still, Chukalin acknowledged the success that the group of players and coaches has achieved. Moreover, he said that everyone worked hard to succeed in an incredibly competitive landscape. Chukalin thanked everyone for their dedication.

Last but not least, he revealed that the current CS:GO roster accepted Team Spirit's philosophy for hard work and embraced it in full. In conclusion, Chukalin asked the fans and the CS:GO community to share his respect for the players and coaches that gave everyone such happy memories.
