Nitr0 Might Be Returning to CS:GO As Team Liquid is Assembling a New Roster

in Counter Strike
November 25, 2021
  • Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella is reportedly considering leaving VALORANT behind and returning to Liquid’s CS:GO team
  • The report comes at a time where Team Liquid is making significant changes to its competitive team
  • According to various reports, Liquid’s new roster might be comprised of nitr0, VINI, shox and EliGE

Reports have it that as Team Liquid assembles a new competitive team, nitr0 considers abandoning his VALORANT post and coming back to CS:GO.

Nitr0 to Come Back Home

Professional esports player Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella, currently playing for the VALORANT team of the esports organization 100 Thieves, might be considering returning to Team Liquid’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team. This is based on a report from the French CS:GO and VALORANT esports news outlet 1pv.fr.

Nitr0 is a former captain of Team Liquid’s CS:GO lineup. Like many CS:GO esports athletes, he switched to VALORANT once Riot’s first-person shooter started gaining popularity. VALORANT promised a fresh esports scene that attracted many people who were disgruntled with CS:GO’s state of affairs. This included both casual players who weren’t happy with the game and professional players who felt that the esports scene is getting stale.

Liquid’s Possible New Lineup

Team Liquid’s Counter-Strike team failed to achieve great results in the 2021 season and was knocked out before having the chance to play at the Stockholm Major playoffs. Because of this, the organization is currently reworking its roster to the core.

Team Liquid will likely go to 2022 with an almost entirely new roster, since rushbmedia said that Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and Jake “Stewie2K” Yip are currently searching for a new team and Michael “Grim” Wince and Keith “NAF” Markovic will likely be excluded from Team Liquid’s future plans, according to 1pv.fr.

Various news outlets reported rumors about the upcoming Team Liquid CS:GO roster. According to Globo Esporte, Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo is a possible pick for Liquid. Furthermore, according to 1pv.fr Richard “shox” Papillon is also currently negotiating a deal with the team.

If everything happens as described, the new Team Liquid roster will consist of the following members:

  • Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella
  • Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo
  • Richard “shox” Papillon
  • Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski
  • TBD

This lineup will see the old comrades nitr0 and EliGE reunited once again.

However, fans should have in mind that the aforementioned roster is far from being confirmed and is more of speculation based on various reports. It is likely that Team Liquid will reveal its real intentions in the near future.
