Despite a suboptimal roster, the Brazilian esports organization FURIA performed spectacularly at ESL Pro League Season 14.

Nicholas “guerri” Nogueir, the team's coach, had to play as a substitute for his squad. This comes after Lucas “honda” Cano's unavailability for the tournament. He was supposed to be replaced by André “drop” Abreu. However, ESL denied the addition of the player to FURIA's roster.
Despite being handicapped, this did not seem to hinder the team's morale during the group stage. FURIA performed exceptionally well during the stage, almost winning a place in the playoffs if it wasn't for an overtime loss to Team Liquid.
Team received recognition for their valiant effort in the face of adversity, with guerri getting praised for his commitment as a player.
Guerri's Gives His Best
Despite not being able to perform in what he does best, the fact that guerri gave all he could, without getting demoralized, caught the eye of the CS:GO community, including many other pros and teams.
Even top world players recognized guerri's exceptional efforts, with Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev being one of the first top pros to congratulate the Brazilian team's coach, which garnered a lot of positive attention from Brazilian fans.
Finn “karrigan” Andersen, FaZe Clan's captain, also made an appreciation tweet for guerri's performance, with some community members not quite catching the sarcastic yet positive tone of the post. However, the Brazilian team's coach caught that and requested a hug from Dane in his response.
FURIA's opponents, NIP, also came forward to recognize the Brazilians' effort and sportsmanship. NIP was close to being eliminated from ESL Pro League Season 1. However, Team Liquid managed to fight back against FURIA from an '11-15′ deficit, managing to take it to overtime and then winning it '19-17′ at the last moment. After that, NIP gave praise to guerri's outstanding performance on social media.
Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato didn't seem to be upset by the loss. In a tweet, he thanked fans for supporting the team in the hard event and called guerri their “secret weapon”. Guerri will be returning to coach and guide his team from the back lines so it will be interesting to see FURIA's future plans.
