Dignitas Puts Its Entire CS:GO Roster for Transfer

in Counter Strike
May 15, 2022
  • The organization is looking to restructure
  • It has made all of its CS:GO team members available for transfer
  • It will be parting ways with many seasoned players

After failing to qualify for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022, Dignitas is making its entire roster available for transfer, while contemplating his future in CS:GO.

Dignitas’ Crew Is Put On Transfer

In competitive gaming, teams often make adjustments to their roster compositions. Hiring new players or transferring others is a common occurrence in the esports scene, but the release of an entire roster of players all at once is a rarity. Well, this is what Dignitas has done with its CS:GO team, making all its members available for transfer. The organization announced this on Tuesday on their Twitter page and follows Dignitas' failure to qualify for PGL Major Antwerp 2022.

“Effective today, all of the players are available for transfer while we explore various iterations of a revised roster,” the organization’s statement reads, “which may still include players currently part of Dignitas. However, we are making all players available to give each player a fair opportunity to find the right fit, whether with Dignitas or not.

The Organization Will Be Parting Ways with Seasoned Veterans

Dignitas’ current roster began life when the organization signed the legendary Ninjas in Pyjamas roster from 2012-2014. The team underwent several changes during the years and the final iteration of the team was finalized in March 2021.

The Swedish team had some very strong names in its mids, like legendary veterans Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg and Adam “friberg” Friberg. Their experience was combined with the young energy of talents like Ludvig “HEAP” Alonso. Despite a good roster composition on paper, the team was not able to win any significant events

Both f0rest and friberg have, in the past, expressed their desire to continue playing professional CS:GO. This is in contrast with their former Ninjas in Pyjamas colleagues Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund, Richard “Xizt” Landström, and Robin “Fifflaren” Johansson, who have all retired from professionally playing the game.

However, names like Finn “karrigan” Andersen and Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer have broken the stigma of older players still playing CS:GO by showing the value of an experienced in-game leader.

Despite the many tried and tested talents Dignitas under its wing, the organization has decided to evaluate its future in CS:GO “in hopes of building a compelling roster that will compete for titles.”

The transfer listed Dignitas CS:GO players are as follows:

  • Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg
  • Adam “friberg” Friberg
  • Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli
  • Ludvig “HEAP” Alonso
  • Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson
